What are some good pinball games? What are some awful pinball games?
>>
>>732220496
Zoomers won't believe this, but when this came with WinXP and I discovered it I actually thought "Woah I can't believe they included such a great game for free. That concept just blew my mind. Solitaire is one thing, a full game with music and everything was something else.

Yoku’s Island Express is so fun. Wish there was more to it or a sequel.
>>
>>732220496
Do you really need more?
The old Sonic one was pretty good I guess.
>>
Pinball actually sucks. Ive been to many pinball arcades and eventually i just gave up on it. Its not fun
>>
>>732220496
I liked metroid pinball but everyone calls me a fag :(

Based. That game is so freaking cool and creative.

Don't forget the general design and missions. Space Cadet is peak

It's actually one table of three.
Which goes back to the point where many games had a large part of them shared for free in the hope that people would buy the full game. Most famously, Doom.
>>
>>732220496
I hate them all equally.
They must've been loads of fun before the arcade vidya scene started, but after that eeehh...the tech in them is pretty cool tho.
If you hate yourself, try Worms Pinball.
>>
>>732220710
I'm pretty sure it came with windows98 if not 95

>a full game
except it wasn't
Space Cadet as it was included in WinXP(actually first it came in WinPlus!, an addon for Win95) it was literally just a demo for the actual full game Full Tilt Pinball.
Windows Space Cadet was in a much lower res(640×480 vs the backten fullscreen res of 1024x768), only had one table out of 3(the titular Space Cadet), lack of multiball, and a few minor differences in how some of the bonuses and special awards mechanics worked in the actual gameplay.
Picrelated is Space Cadet in the actual full game

>>

I'm genuinely convinced that zoomers don't actually care about pinball outside of pretending to care about the game in OP's pic, as a fan of both there's basically zero overlap in demographics. Nobody cares about pinball vidya and nobody cares about vidya-themed pinball.

Pinball boomers don't like video games, and gamers don't like pinball.

>Pinball actually sucks
What?
Pinball is super fun once you stop using the flippers like you have involuntary seizures. Learn the rules, learn the techniques.
>>
>>732221623
It's true. 3D Space Cadet Pinball was a rebranded port of one of the boards from Full Tilt! Pinball. It wasn't an advertisement for the full game though. There's no mention of Full Tilt anywhere in 3D Space Cadet, and the board was actually modified to remove references to the original game.

I'm trying to find a DOS pinball game. From memory it was monochrome and was witch/halloween themed or something. Any leads?

awww, now you made me remember that old Dos shareware pinball game. It was mediocre, but it had a level editor and it got me so addicted I actually bought it mailordering and all that shit. Good times.

My favorite pinball machine was stormed themed and it had a fan on top that blew air on you. I don't remember its name, but I was poor as a kid and it was at the bowling alley so I rarely had enough money to play it more than a few times per visit

Why? I remember loving it precisley because the large pokedex library pushed me to play more. Only problem was the rumble battery schtick.

This one is from 1992.
>>732224107
Catchy theme, boring gameplay (like most Steve Richie games).
>>
>>732223742
Sonic Spinball fucking blows. If it were pure pinball instead of some gay platforming hybrid it'd be better.
>>
>>732224186
The only thing that sucks about the GBC game is that they made it literally impossible to catch Mew. You can spawn it but it literally cannot be caught.
>>
>>732224226
There's only like 30 seconds of platforming in the entire game.
>>
>>732224186
Playing it again and it just doesn’t feel consistent. Balls slightly clipping and not behaving like you would think. No real problem with the newer one.

Idk. A bunch of em, i was at a pinball arcade bar with free play so i bounced around. I dont like pinball that much so im not gonna remember what games they are. My pals keeping wanting to go to these places and i kept going and i kept being bored playing pinball no matter how many times i play it, so im just gonna acknowledge that i just don't like it.
>>
>>732224696
Fair enough. Nice of you to keep enduring something that bores you out to please your buddies.
>>
>>732224107
Man, one day i need to have a pinball machine. I just love everything about it, the lights, the sound..
But for that i need a room, just to have stuff like this, like an arcade chill room

Well i used to.
Now i just dont wanna go anymore. Last time i was so bored i just walked around the block instead. So im not going to anymore pinball arcades unless its with a big group. Id much rather just hang out at a cocktail bar and talk then do this solitary pinball thing where were all at different tables not talking
>>
>>732226703
>were all at different tables not talking
Grim.
When I play with friend we all stay at the same table and comment on what the player is doing.

>>
>>732221623
Shareware was a huge thing in the 90s. Demo disks were also very common in the 2000s.
>>
So do the tilts in video games like Space Cadet Pinball and Pokemon Pinball actually work like in real life? By that I mean is the aim of the tilt button in these video games to knock the elements of the board into the ball rather than to try and move the ball directly with the nudges?
I never found out that that's how you're supposed to do it in real life until decades after I last played one of those games.

>>
>>732220496
Pinball Arcade is the best if we excluse visual pinball or future pinball or any one of those.
It has a bunch of legendary tables and they feel good to play. Not super floaty like most pinball games that I tried.
>>
>>732223960
Possibly my favorite pinball game.
>>732220790
Enjoyed this enough to get 100%. Are there any similar games?
I've also been looking for a good pinball game that's just one big collection of different machines but every one I've seen so far seems to be a scam that wants you to buy a ton of DLCs. No way I am doing that, it's cheaper just to go to an arcade.
>>
>>732223960
