>GabeFollower who said: “the current rumour is that HLX development has reached a point where it no longer requires all hands on deck, and those who have finished their work are starting to shift to other projects”.
>former Valve developer and Half-Life writer Chet Faliszek mocked the claim that developers are leaving the alleged unfinished Half-Life project as it nears completion.
>“They must be right because I cannot think of a time a product has shipped where, at the end of the project, it’s not just relaxation,” the former Valve developer said. “It’s hanging out by the lake, maybe going home early and hanging out with your family, relaxing, golf games, too bad it’s cold out so it’s not good golf season.”
>Faliszek continued, saying: “There’s never crunch towards the end of a project. There’s never a rush, there’s never a scramble to try and fix all the bugs or get or the content in or playtest to make sure there’s nothing broken or missing. I have never heard of a game shipping where they scrambled and then had to release a Day Zero patch or even a Day One patch to fix any of the bugs because they’ve been done for months. They just sit on the game, they’re just relaxing!”
>The developer joked that “crunch is a myth”, saying that “crunch is really when developers want to get away from their families and hang out and play pool”.
>In response to a viewer who stated they “worked 100 hours a week for the last three months” of a project, Faliszek explained “that sadly is normal which is why this article is so funny”.

If you are still actively waiting for this game, you are just torturing yourself. Let it go.

They can't. They need closure.

>waiting

why would you wait for any game these days, when they are all approved by and made by committee meaning nothing is a sure thing success anymore - everything can be DEI'd or enshittified by some board or etc... even GTA6 could flop
>>
>schizo chet faliszek has an opinion on a company he hasn't worked for in nearly a decade
ok
>>
Fagliszek tore his credibility to shreds years ago

If you are waiting for this game after seeing Raising the Bar, you are doing this to yourself.
HL2 was not a good game.
Valve sacrificed cool ideas and entire gameplay segments for a tech demo of physics engine, then utilized the cut content for "episodes".
Abandon all hope.

Of course, they're not moving on, Valve is shifting towards making PC gaming hardware with semi-custom chips, why would their devs make one game optimized for them and then just stop. Valve is preparing to compete with Microsoft in the PC gaming hardware space for the TV, desktop, and handheld.
>>
>>732232260
What the fuck is Valve going to be crunching for? They have absolutely no pressure to release anything.
>>
>>732232260
I mean yeah that makes sense. When a product is getting closer to completion that means it's crunch time, that's how every software project ever works. The claim that they're taking it easy doesn't make sense. Presumably valve still has some internal deadlines they try and meet even if there's no announced release date for HLX.
>>
GabeFollower's claim is the project is finished or near finished, and since there is no deadline (or at least a relaxed one) seemingly I don't see why crunch would be something occuring.

idk much about Chet other than his credits and a few of his videos back working at Valve but the few bits I did see from him seemed to have a chip on his shoulder.

geforce now

Does Valve even have employees that can make games anymore?

Is this Tyler McNigger's new account or something?
>>
>>732232260
I hope this game comes out some day and ends on a cliffhanger.

Even if this statement is true, it doesn't mean the game is coming out, just that people aren't working on it.

Yes and theyre working on Deadlock

I liked it
>Abandon all hope.
No. Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
