DLNA on MOVIAN is broken and the guy who makes the, crypto‑mining malware (none of their stuff is open sourced), ALDOs TOOLS Movian won’t add the correct headers for DLNA. So JELLYFIN won’t transcode. I’ve tried multiple times to make new profiles, but I could never get it to transcode correctly. There is a pull request for a profile that works, but Jellyfin does not support native DLNA anymore (only via a plugin), you have to dig into the configs on your server and add your custom profile now. I did not try this new config yet, but I have my doubts.Also, to get DLNA to work you need to have Universal Plug a Play enabled on your router, which means that if you work from home or something and connect to a VPN the wrong way, your coworkers are gonna see all your gay‑ass anime. There is a Plex app, but it doesn’t work (also Plex is for morons). OP is dumb for suggesting this.Also, PS4 has the same transcoding issues. Maybe it’s fixed recently, but the last time I tried all of this (or when I gave up after YEARS of fucking around with this) was a few months ago. The XMB menu DOES send the correct headers, but modern codecs don’t work, so you won’t be able to watch everything. Very discouraging.Like others have mentioned, your best option for CRT movie watching on PS3 is converting shows and watching them via Movian from USB or the system itself. As you can tell, I am very buttmad about this because it had so much potential for streaming classic anime on a CRT. Believe me… I’ve tried to get all of this working, countless hours wasted. I gave up and am using a laptop or steamdeck connected to one of those HDMI‑to‑RCA adaptors. >>732248345I just went down this rabbit hole with my OG Xbox. I could only get Plex to behave with my Xbox, but I have plex and jellyfin running on my NAS and both transcode fine with the XMB media browser. Movian does not work properly, however, which is admittedly bizarre.
