I've noticed like 90% of the positive reviews say the same thing: Get this even if you don't like shmups.

I disagree. It's brutally unfairly punishing right from the beginning. There are traps that pop out and instantly kill you, and move faster than you so you can't react to them, you just have to memorize them. Even if I memorized the traps there are constantly situations where there's 90-95% of the screen completely covered in projectiles, and I'm still talking about the FIRST LEVEL. It's a thoroughly stressful experience, and I never felt anything approaching "fun" at any point while I was playing. If you're not already good at shmups give this one a pass.

it's incredibly easy for a shmup, gives you extremely powerful spammable weapons that delete projectiles in front of you, has a very rewarding continue system that lets you just fucking bruteforce through it even if you suck, and the final boss is separate from the rest of the game in such a way that you have access to all your continues for it.
there is literally no easier shmup
