The biggest lie you could ever tell yourself is that one day you'll finish your backlog. It simply isn't going to happen. You will die and there will be hundreds of unfinished games in your wake. What you should do instead of stare at the giant pile of games, constantly accumulating, is cultivate a healthy relationship with gaming that complements your lifestyle. Games are entertainment, not chores or checklists, and approaching the backlog like it's somehow more important than a good diet, frequent exercise and so on is a fool's trap. If games were shorter, much like albums or comic books, it wouldn't be an issue. After all, you can easily catch up on multiple volumes of manga in a single day. The same can't be said for finishing even one game before the sun goes down, unless you're a speedrunner or just rush through everything. So because of this inherent wall, you must accept that the games are there not to be "beaten." They exist for the sake of fun, and that's all. If a dozen years from now you wake up and realize you've exhausted all the value of every game you own, then there will still be more waiting for you, and more after that, without going into other mediums like films, novels, etc. If at any stage you stop having fun with a game, then turn it off and do something else. Before you know it, you'll start to pine, and eventually you'll forget about the unplayed section, the giant backlog looming overhead will seem nonexistent. It's all in your head. Perhaps it always was.

Not with that attitude you won't

I don't have a backlog. I have about 300 games installed, 2/3 of which i beat already and I play them whenever I feel like it with no intention of beating it or getting a trophy offhand. They are my property to do with as I please.

i have like 11 games in mine, i'm gonna make it

in order to ever make a list of every game I've beaten, I need a site that has pictures of every single game ever made and I can just click the ones I beat, I think. because trying to remember them all off the top of my head isn't going to happen.

backlogs are stupid anyway
