Unless you're planning to softmod it then don't bother, and even then most shit can be emulated nowadays.

Then it's pretty good for you if you have nothing else to play them on. It's easy to install Wii U games, Wii games, and VC games with homebrew. There's even custom shortcuts that let you play some Wii games and homebrew apps with the gamepad. Wii U versions of VC games have a shitty dark filter over them. It can be removed tediously, and I dunno if anyone has an archive or anything of doing it themselves. But you basically have whatever Wii U homebrew and the vast Wii homebrew scene at your fingertips. If you really just need something to plug in to your TV and have access to all that shit, then it's pretty decent.

I haven't fucked with Wii U softmodding since before Tiramisu or whatever became a thing so I'm definitely out of date.

This is true as fuck. For what everyone acts like is some throwaway add-in game, and I never experienced it at first because I have the WWHD edition, it's really fucking good.

Mario Run and Luigi's Mansion are a fucking blast when you have 3+ people.
