I have no faith in Pearl Abyss making an actual compelling story or anything like that. I wanted an immersive, high quality fantasy RPG I could get lost in and grind in. The game has endless red flags of a huge open world with effectively nothing in it. The reason for this is because they probably had some deployment pipeline to add in nothing burger quests, POIs and lootable items. MMOs and the best RPGs were massive endeavors because they required huge teams to actually put soul and compelling content in tiny pockets of the world and also all throughout the main story. If there is no reason to believe that was done for this game, its a fools errand to expect it to magically be there.
