I haven't played a Dynasty Warriors game since 3. Which one is generally considered the best one to jump into nowadays?

Though had some janks that could be considered off putting by today's standards like not being able to change the direction of your attacks once you've hit an enemy.>5: Most polished of the PS2 games, best side mode in the form of Destiny Mode where you start as a nobody under a playable character, but slowly rise through the ranks through 8 stages, unlocking new abilities and stuff and can even get noticed and poached by an enemy. Difficulty starts taking a plummet here.>7: Best story telling and it's not even close. Though gameplay moves away from the battle sim of earlier titles and goes hard to the 1vs1000 aspect, giving the characters more powerful and flashier movesets and making the game piss easy. Also more than half of the roster are clone of one another.>8: Most contents and every character is fully unique. Though a character being unique isn't equal to their moveset being fun, and it having so much contents could make the grind somewhat a chore.>Origins: Somewhat goes back to the battle sim of earlier titles while still retaining the flashy combat of newer ones. Only 1 (uno) donutsteel playable character with 10 (+2 with the DLC) weapons, but each weapon is fully realized with different gimmicks. Also the story only goes up to Chibi in 208AD instead of like 234AD or 264AD like previous ones. Objectively the best one right now even if it misses some of the series' appeal points.
