They could say that there will be no new actual "games" going forwards and that Champions is the only way to experience Pokemon and it would still be a billion dollar franchise. The issue is that those billions don't transfer to anything else Nintendo. You don't invest in Nintendo for Pokemon, you invest in the Pokemon Company.
