>>732262908Sims may very well be one of the greatest games of all time and is really like a lightning in a bottle situation because of Will Wright's circumstances when he was developing it. A genuine masterpiece.
>>732262908I only liked building stuff, actually trying to play the game normal was never fun.

>>732262908The Sims is great, especially for the time it was released, but the needs went down a little too quickly, and you apparently needed to know everybody in the neighbourhood, plus even more people, in order to get promoted to the uppermost positions of so many of the careers. For the politics career, I think you basically needed almost maximum occupancies in all of the lots of the original smaller neighbourhood, before they expanded its size.
>>732264560I really do think that the TS1 build themes are some of the greatest piano pieces in modern history.
>>732265028Now you make thousands of simrupees just by existing.
>>732263687The later Sims games feel like a totally different game series to me.
>>732265028I took the science career to the max when the re-release came out (still used the Starter Pack, though). It was difficult, but fun juggling friends to constantly to maintain friendship. I even avoided taking every other day off. Though, it highlighted the need for more goals. Sandboxes are cool, but unlockables and progression make them so much better. Maybe that's why I always enjoyed the console Sims more.
How has an indie dev not made a spiritual successor to this game? I'm not talking about Paralives, that's obviously more of a modern life sim. I'm talking about a more retro Sims 1 inspired indie game. The closest game I can think of that comes close is Project Zomboid, but that's a totally different genre.
>>732262908Sims Online 2 when
>>732265798Tiny Life fits that niche, but it's not NEARLY as good as Sims 1 and it's pixel art from what I remember of playing it.Also it has LGBT flaggots in it.
I was always trying to fuck the Goth family matriarch
does Sims 2 Legacy crash for anyone else when trying to play it via Steam.fucking annoying, i just wanna drown some Sims
>>732265904WE ALL HAD HER, MORTY! BUT YOU MARRIED HER!
>>732265991Yeah it's a notoriously unstable port and nobody has any idea what actually causes it. Some people run it perfectly, some can't even get past the opening logos.
>>732266204it's so strange because it used to work almost flawlessly, until i tried it again very recently - now it won't even get past the initial loading screen
>>732265649Damn, so it was just a bunch of different ideas and subjects in books about the human condition and put together in a type of simulation/game? No wonder modern games fucking suck.
>>732262908Wait SimCity came first?I always assumed it was named after the sims

>>732262908>non-whites prevalent>interracial romance>evil guy is white>wimmenz in the workplaceWoke trash.
>>732266671If you think Sims 1 is woke, the Sims 4 would give you a stroke. I would give anything to go back to the Sims 1 level of "wokeness".
