It sucks how late in the game you acquire the drill dash. I straight up don't like replaying the levels before you get the ability.
>>
>>732269308
console fps from that generation just aren't fun. I doubt I even got halfway through the first bioshock before getting bored and never playing it again.
>>
>>732269308
>late
You acquire it in the third level
It's also not a good ability since it costs like half your fuel even with the upgrade
>>
>>732269308
Bioshock 1 mogs it.
>>
>>732269554
lol
>>
>>732269502
>You acquire it in the third level
You get it in the fourth level (Pauper's Drop). There's only five levels after so you're without it for close to half the game.

>costs like half your fuel even with the upgrade
Not anywhere close in my experience. Were you playing on the highest difficulty?
>>
>>732269308
I don't like how late you get all of the level 3 plasmids, especially Telekinesis. Picking up LIVE ENEMIES and THROWING THEM was the coolest shit ever, but you only get it in Persephone, the final level, so you barely get any time to enjoy it. The other level 3s are a bit better, but most of the game is over by that point.
>>
>>732269554
Story debatable but everything else is so much better.
People just hate it because its an actual sequel and not just some unrelated game bearing the same name like Infinite.
>>
>>732269754
>>732269308
Hang on, fourth level? Pauper's Drop is one of the first major levels in the game, and Grace is the first of 3 major antagonists. Pauper's Drop starts around the end of the intro and tutorial, there's no way it's four levels in. Maybe if you're counting tiny intro sections as full levels or something.

Yeah this is a genuine criticism. The drill dash is insanely good, so it makes sense to get it partway through. But the level 3 plasmids being locked to the last level sucks. Have you ever tried using level 3 eletric shock with continuous drilling? Its super fun and does tons of damage.
>>
>>732270564
>Have you ever tried using level 3 eletric shock with continuous drilling?
Hell yes I use that to kill the dual Big Sisters in seconds. One-two punch but it's DOT lol.
>>
>>732270409
The level 3 plasmids all suck though, way too much EVE for how much damage they do. They're only really worth it for making the level 2 charge the default power
>>
>>732270409
Replay the game with cheats. You can bind any level of plasmid to a key and you'll have it. I'm not sure if cheats work on the remaster.

Playing it with non stop drill ammo and instant Hyponize 3 was pretty fun.
>>
>>732270812
That's really just Incinerate. Never felt like it dealt very good damage for being almost exclusively a damage Plasmid.

Electro Bolt, THE BEES, and Winter Blast were all broken as shit at level 3.
>>
>>732270409
For me it's pulling the splicers directly towards me and skewering them with the drill. Great fun.
>>
>>732270978
I don't see how the others are any good either, there's nothing you can really do by holding the button that you can't do by tapping it

Fuck yeah brother. A fellow connoisseur.

>>732271083
Level 3 electro shock is genuinely insane with the drill.
>>
>>732271010
>pull in splicers (including the big ass splicer brute)
>drop him at your feet after giving him a face full of phosphorus buck
>switch to level 3 electro shock and drill to finish him off

Bioshock 2 endgame makes you feel so powerful. Genuinely such a great game. If bioshock 1 has a better atmosphere over 2, then 2 apes it regards to gameplay innovations
>>
The only good BioShock is 1. 2 is meh and 3 is complete shit
>>
>>732271083
>>732271690
The combo seems to apply the shock > melee damage bonus to the whole continuous drill spin, it's probably the highest possible DPS in the game, I reckon?

Hey didn't the game have little turrets or something? I remember being able to lay a minefield of traps for those gathering sessions where everyone would crave loli and all rush into the same room. Stuff like the Cyclone Trap making splicers bonk into the ceiling was funny too.
>>
>>732271870
1 is only interesting cause of the twist and everything after that twist is dogshit, from a game standpoint 2 and Minervas den are superior in everyway.
>>
Same but with the security bit summoning.
>>
I remember a moment
>had upgraded bee plasma that turns living and dead enemies into bee mines
>infected one splicer with bees, then picked him up with telekinesis
>use the splicer as a meat shield to absorb fire from a different splicer that im also shooting at
>once the splicer im holding dies I throw him at a another group of splicers, spreading the bees to all of them
It was this sequence of events that made me realize bioshock 2 was an excellent game
>>
>>732271870
1 has a great atmosphere and feels the most like a "oh shit, I have to scavenge to survive in this dying city" kind of game, especially on hard mode. But 2 has great improvements to the gameplay, and while you feel less weak due to the fact that you're a big daddy with a drill it is so much fun. Plus minveras den like the other anon said is phenomenal and severely underrated. I wouldn't go as far to say that everything after the twist in bioshock 1 sucks, because I especially love apollo square.
>>
>>732272485
Kino game that lets you do cool shit like this. I don't know how anyone can say 2 sucks when it lets you do stuff like this.

>>732271902
Yeah the turrets are ton of fun. You can set rivet traps, drop turrets, leave cyclone traps during those sequences where the splicers try to rush your little sister while she harvests.

Putting other elements on your cyclone traps is fun as fuck too. I just think it has to be upgraded to level 2 at least. Putting electricity on a cyclone trap thats on a puddle of water? Kills most splicers and leaves any that survive incapacitated. You can put flaming cyclone traps near explosive barrels or pools of oil to cause a massive fire. It also costs very little eve to put elements on your cyclone trap.
>>
>>732273047
Damn I never got cyclone trap because it sounded weak to me. Definitely going to try it on my next playthrough.
>>
I remember the multiplayer for this game being far more fun than it had any right to be
>>
>>732273325
Capture the sister was fun.

I never understood the hate for the little sister defense parts of the game it was cool to set up traps and see them pay off. It also got more fun as the game went on you got more plasmids and weapons that can lay traps. I still remember laying wire traps and the vortex plasmid that could be infused with other plasmids. Are people just bad at games? I died to the big sister a few times as a kid but i dont think i ever lost a little sister defense even on hard no vita.
>>
>>732273227
Its very fun if you haven't messed around with it before. Your turrets will shoot splicers as they fly into the air and as they lay on the ground. I even sometimes put rivet traps on walls, up high, where I know splicers will fly into the air and trigger them. God damn, talking about this game in this thread makes me miss it so much. Gotta play it again soon.

>>732273325
It was actually kino but really overlooked. Thats because it came out at a time where every game had tacked-on shooter multiplayer to compete with CoD, but this one was actually incredibly fun. I miss 1 tapping people in the head with the elephant gun so much, no game can replicate that feeling.
>>
>>732273575
Nah you're just a god gamer and most people are plebs who cant think outside of the box. I wouldn't be surprised if most players never used the electric trip wire, the turrets, cyclone traps, rivet traps, and basically everything in their disposal not only because all of these tools are very useful, they're also very fun.

>did a hard mode run with no vita chambers
yeah you're actually sick anon. good job
>>
My favorite past time was summon a big sister and then run to a a big daddy and see them battle.
Then if he wins (Might need my help) I let him live.
Also it was sad to kill that one big Daddy and listen to the recording...
