Gamecube had some of the best games of all time that have aged beautifully like- Mario Sunshine- Melee- Prime 1/2- Twilight Princess- Windwaker- Luigi's Mansionetc.PS2 had way more games but the highs weren't as high

PS2 is remembered most fondly for its multiplats as that's what people mostly had for it. They don't miss the console or the games specifically made for it. In particular they miss being in elementary school.
PS2 > Xbox > DC > GBA > GC

>>732273749The highs were inarguably higher featuring multiple classics and genre defining releases in more than one genre. Beat 'Em Up, RPG, 3rd Person Action, Survival Horror, Fighting, Racing, Stealth, etc. It did share some of these games with other consoles of the time, but if we're directly comparing GCN and PS2 there was objectively more highly rated games of the era on PS2 with just as much staying power.
