Whats up with that? There's like a handful of endgame demons that actually feel endgame but the rest you can easily throw away. Even metatron was a huge fumble

The game had a crazy problematic developement cycle, thats why most of the cast gets sidelined hard almost instantly.
I also noticed that you gain a weird huge influx of demons around lvl 40-60 but because of how easy the bosses during that period become and how specific their weaknesses are you barely get a decent reason to use most of them, especially with how stingy Macca gets.
They tried to fix this a bit with Vengence but they propably didn't want to touch the game too much as well. Maybe SMT6 will be better balanced.

Maybe I'm naive, but I can't see a world where Atlus kills their franchises by doing that. They're definitely greedy as shown by double or triple releases of games + egregious DLC on release, but the games are consistently good quality, and made with as much love and care as their shitty crunch schedules allow. I've played Atlus games I didn't like, but I can't really say I've played a "bad" atlus game.

Yea I don't get this complaint. The whole world is a desert, but has vastly different zones. I refuse to believe anyone actually has such shallow thinking to think the first zone and second zone are even similar outside of sand being on the ground. Then Taito, Chiyoda and Shinjuku are all one of a kind as well. Followed by a classic smt style dungeon even if it was mediocre and impossible to actually get lost in.

I strongly recommend playing the game with the minimap and the UI off. Actually I'd go so far as to say it was designed to be played like that and they added UI elements because of playtesters cried, you can see the same thing happening with them removing the fog of war caused by abcesses in Vengeance.

I also like to lower the fov so it's closer to you and harder to see like a first person game, but that one is probably more controversial since the game has really pretty aesthetics. But at the very least turn off the mini map.

Yes they have assigned stat spreads so a Physical demon will have crappy mag and a Magic demon will have low HP. All demons of their class are identical except for what moves they learn naturally and what their base resistances are.

UE5 was already pretty much UE4.5 for the longest time, and most of the big additions were just realism/open world shit. Every other change is just making internal systems more modular.

Yeah 4 is ass, designed by people who had no idea what balancing is. Every demon is interchangeable and magic mirrors will carry you for 90% of the bossfights because the devs were too retarded to add Almighty attacks to bosses. The only people who say IV is good are 3DS babies who had it as their first SMT.
Garbo art, garbo writing, DOGSHIT combat. dogshit exploration; music is good but 99% of IV's OST is included in Apocalypse so IV loses that one positive it had retroactively. Only upside of the game is that it's short.
