Marvel Rivals pulls it off, Overwatch pulls it off, this one doesn't.The game is good and i am enjoying the fuck out of it, but as a business launch it was not a good move.

Like, they deliberated avoided teaching players the convenient method, which made people have a first impression that the farming method is all that annoying minigame. And the defaulted raid weapon is the fucking rocket launcher, which is also mid as fuck for breaking down bases. The hammer even does that better than it, so it's more effective at the economy game because of the ore farming AND wall breaking and the even utility with the smoke/rock walls it can create.

So regardless of whether people actually touched the game or saw more footage of it, it became the popular thing to shit on.In actuality, I think it's just alright but clearly undercooked. The gunplay's solid enough and chasing each other on horses is neat. They really need more options to liven up and diversify the gathering and reinforcing stages though. There's no variety to racing each other to mine rocks, and barricading a few walls doesn't really slow a raid down by more than a few moments. They need mobs to hunt, traps to lay down, more ways to set up defenses like turrets or NPC guards.

They really did themselves dirty making people think the QTE is the correct way you're supposed to farm the ores when the raid tool hammer clears an entire line of them in an instant. The QTE is the worse way to farm the ores, yet they teach players that's the normal way to farm them when it isn't.
