I don't know anything about ESO to compare it to that but I guess it sounds pretty similar. You hit level 80 then you can play through the expansion stories, or start playing open world stuff to grind for legendaries and skins, do instanced content like fractals and raids, PVP or WvW. You hit the highest tier of gear very easily and early, and that's basically it for your gearing unless you want to try a bunch of different builds. For people that like that feeling of gear progression constantly it's pretty lacking, but it really fits the bill for others. GW2 is like the boomer MMO player retirement home for people who are tired of "grinding" and keeping up with the Joneses.
