Explain to me why people pay for games instead of pirating/emulating them without sounding retarded.
>>732297270Emulation isn't flawless. Not everyone games on pc.
I want to support the developer
>>732297270tranny coded character
Steams features outweigh whatever I'd save pirating games. Emulation is incomplete. DRM blocks games I want to play at the time rather than being a waitcuck
Most people aren't broke NEETs so shelling out money for a game every once in a while isn't something they really think about
>>732297270I only pirate japanese games because they don to regional prices, fuck em
>>732297270I buy after pirating the game and enjoying it. More copies sold means the devs can make more good stuff.
>>732297517>they dont dothat wasnt the autocorrect and I just woke up, fuck me
>>732297270Online multiplayer, denuvo availability (not all games make it on the scene)
>>732297270Play through the game first and then buy it if you like it to support the studio as well as help enable a sequel or simply more projects. Also, some games keep getting updates like CoreKeeper so after trying out a "free GOG" version, I bought the Steam version since I felt it was worthy of my money.
>>732297405>Unironically using the word "coded"Pot calling the kettle black.
>>732297270are you employed
>>732297270I watched a studio which made games I pirated for the 3DS go under and ever since then I pay for games I truly like.>why?tl;dr is that you never know if your sales (as a collective, not as a single pirate) will be the difference between the company managing to stay open or going bankrupt.
>>732297270I'm a 36 year old single male with loads of disposable income and I enjoy the benefits of owning games on steam, primarily instantly having access to cloud storage and being able to pick up a game 10 years later right where I left off. Additionally, and this is REALLY important, I firmly believe you should never EVER play a game you wouldn't pay for. My time is worth more than my money, and I wouldn't play garbage just because it's free. If paying leaves a bitter taste in your mouth then that game was a waste of time. People obsessed with piracy and emulation usually just play trash. I refund trash.
>>732297270Because they're good little sheep that wore the mask, took the vax and pay $70 MSRP per game.
>>732297517If you're white you'd be paying more for the game on regional prices. If you're not then you don't matter anyway
honestly cause piracy is usually such a hassle. yes, really. half the time i download torrents they dont even work. also fan projects ask for too much detail. i wanted to play turtle wow and project ascension but everything needs your email nowadays. back in the day u woulda just been able to make a username and password via their site and play that shiteverything is just getting so complicated and intrusive for no reasonso now i just play runescape! its free!
>>732297270Most first world, high-trust societies operate under the understanding that you pay someone for a good or service, especially a luxury one. Or in other words, people are not compelled to steal if they’re not brown.
>>732297270Everyone can't be a parasite.
>>732297270It's simple.I buy games that are worth supporting because they're good. This tells the developer I want more and gives them the money they need to make more.If a game is bad enough that I don't want to buy it, I won't play it. I won't pirate it. I won't emulate it (unless I have to or the emulated version is just vastly superior). I won't touch it.btw it's cool if you pirate games, I used to as well. It is what it is.
>>732297654But how do you know a game is shitty before giving it a chance? I've played a surprising number of games that I initially thought looked stupid/shitty but they ended up being good, great and sometimes even kino.Is that why you're single at 36?
>>732297270frieren is dark woke
Denuvo cucked me out of pirating the games I want to play
>>732297270It's easy to spend money you didn't work for.
>>732297686Skill issue.
It’s easier to just buy it then search online for a crack or wait for someone to crack it then you have to make sure it’s legit and not going to crypto mine my pc and if it’s a multiplayer game you can’t play on the official servers so what’s the point? Piracy is just for you want to play a old ps2 game not new releases it’s a waste of time.

>>732297270I'm lazy and I have disposable income. Two clicks, 2 minutes, 20 bucks. Boom gaming
desu my pc cant even run halo mcc without stuttering gaming laptops sucki just feel like everything in this world is designed in such a retarded way and now games cost $100 msrp im just like bro why do anything im priced out
People want to support developers which doesn't happen if you obtain the game for free
>>732297356Whenever someone says this i immediately think tech illiterate and retarded
I make about $120/hr and the time saved is worth more to me. For pirated games, anyway, I still emulate.
>>732297270they are too busy buying games to save up for a computer that allows them to pirate
>>732297270>He didn't spend Winter Storm Fern emulating classic SNES slop
>>732297270To help the economy while supporting an industry that I enjoy
>>732297270Lifelong pirate here. The reason I stopped pirating is the same way criminals get people into drugs, Gabe gifted me a game that I wanted enough to download steam.I know how to properly torrent and was part of a private tracker, I always had money but I didn't care if game devs get money, I still don't care if the wholesome 100 big chungus 3 guys indie team that made le epic GOTY don't get my $5 dollars for their game, I even pirated free games. But steam is just so convenient, like it works so well. Torrenting a game, finding a good release, download it, waiting for it to install and then 15 mins later find out I didn't like it takes so long. It's annoying to pirate. With steam, I press install on a game that I bought 6 months ago for $10, it's done quickly, I don't need to verify versions or file integrity, press play and 1 hour and 40 minutes later, if I didn't like it I just refund it and get my money back.I think being able to refund games if I don't like them is what keeps me from going to my full on piracy days. With anime though, I pay for crunchyroll but torrent everything, it's so ass to watch anime on a browser where you can't even take a screenshot like what the hell.
>>732297945HOLY FUCKING SHITJesus, OP, at least edit the image so the hash changes and you can dodge making yourself look like a faggot on archive sites. This is just sad.
>>732297270If its real new it will get patches and what not so its pain in the ass if you pirate the early version with bugs and shit optimization
>>732297270i support devs that made good game I enjoy to give an incentive for more good games I enjoy to be made
its easier to pay for a real product than know how to pirate safely
>>732297270Ease of AccessAlso known as the Steam argument, If people are able to pay for a game and be able to play it whenever, they are less likely to pirate itI've been emulating the PSP recently, to play games I actually own, because my battery exploded
>>732297270I like supporting small studios
>>732297270it's convenientmax download speedall patches, updates, modsachievments, cloud saves etc.there are a a lot of benefits for buying a game
>>732297270>Explain to me why people pay for games instead of pirating/emulating them without sounding retarded.Paid services like steam have made it convenient enough for the price they're asking. Always was a matter of convenience. Do you bake your own bread or buy it? Do you make your own cheese or buy it? Do you make your own tools or buy them? You can do all of those things, but its more convenient to buy them. The comparison isn't perfect, but its good enough.Personally I never really buy games and pirate everything tho. Occasionally I'll get something physical tho.
>>732297818>But how do you know a game is shitty before giving it a chance? Steam gives you 2 hours of playtime before issuing a refund becomes invalid. There is no good game that wastes 2 hours of your time.>Is that why you're single at 36?Extremely personal question.
enlightenment occurs when you realize there's nothing worth pirating either.i have a philosophy where if everything is free, nothing is. because you simply will not play anything. at least i won't.
>>732298489>supportingyou giga faggotthese people are not your familythey create a product you buyno one buys a product to support someonewhat load of horseshit
>>732298116People want to play games. Not fidget around. It's only tolerable if you collect welfare and sit on your ass all day.
>>732297270access to multiplayer
>>732297270>https://arch.b4k.dev/v/search/image/xM8xiD700FEWjBEPHUev0w/Explain why you're a retard FOTM slopper? Oh wait, you can't. You're a retard.
>>732298781And if nobody buys the product then no more will be made?
>>732298897Anon, no one cares. Go whine in one of the ten billion recurrent rpg threads.
>>732298940if the product is good it will sellno need for supportthis faggy shit with i like the devs they are so poggers i have to buy 30 copiesis the most cringe thing i've ever heardin no other business is this the caseno one buys a car to support lamborghinithe fuck?!
>>732299165Do you know what the word 'support' means? It doesn't mean 'buy thirty copies', it means, to 99% of people (of which you are not one), 'buy one copy'.
>>732297270i'm tired of frierenposting
>>732297270Because people generally prefer legally acquiring games instead of pirating.
>>732299456bullshitsee the exampleno one buys shit to "support" business XYcall it what you want but this is faggot talk
>>732299165>in no other business is this the caseIt is literally the case in all creative businesses. Books, music, animation, etc.
>>732297270Are you suggesting demons actually pay for games?
>>732299862>literally the case in all creative businessesyeahfor faggots
>>732299823>words mean what I say they mean...okay.
>>732297270i want my games on steam cause its convenient and thats where everyone is
I use my neetbux lol
>>732297270because in a market economy more of the stuff that people pay for gets madeif you pirate expedition 33 but spend 250 bucks for candy crush...
>>732297270Market incentives. If I buy a game I tell the firm that produced the product that I am willing to pay for not only this game, but similar games like it in the future. It's Econ 101, really.
>>732300003i bet you're one of those simps that subs and donates to e-celebs
>>732297270Because money has no value today
>>732297270multiplayer games arent very fun singleplayer
>>732297270If no one paid for games, they wouldn't get made.
>>732300079Actually I'm one of those guys who doesn't have social media, doesn't watch Youtube and doesn't play any video games made after 2004, so you're a little bit off the mark there.
>>732298790outing yourself as a retard isn't a flex
>>732300404Has nothing to with retardation. But you're too stupid to get that. Go toy with your settings, fatso.
>>732297270Sometimes I just like to be able redownload a game without having to worry about torrents or links dying. It's not super feasible to keep 100+gb games installed at all times.
>>732297270I'm moving on my own for the first time and making the calculations I'm never fucking buying a single player game again :DDDDD shit I ain't a cuck no more
>>732297270Piracy disincentivises people from working on games as it removes the money from the equation.
>>732299065>>732297270samefag
>>732297270I only pirate stuff on a virtual machine, because I fundamentally distrust pirates. So I buy stuff more often than not just because it is simpler and I want to have it available on my main computer to download at any time I wish with no hassle. Now when it comes to emulation, especially ps2 and earlier, I'm more trusting and there are better, more trustworthy sources, and so I emulate pretty often.
>>732297270>buy on steam>it just works>pirate>manual checks for updates, manual transfer of save games, mods might not work and so on
>>732297270why do people lewd frieren?
>>732297270there aren't actually enough good games anymore so buying a few a year really isn't a big deal.
>>732301178She looks hot af i always fap to her
>>732301412she is not for lewd
>>732297629>still eating chipskys
>>732303051okay then i will make due with you anon, time to lewd you
>>732297270Just like another anon in this thread, I genuinely want to support a developer
They choose to be a patron of the arts
>>732303657patron of the sharts
>>732300996i barely pirate anymore but when i do it's fitgirl
>>732306065i remember on my old PC I downloaded hitman with all the DLC, it actually took over 12 hours to install using a fitgirl torrent
