Games are great at exploring isolation and paranoia so why no games? A tactics/city management game where an airborne zombie virus infects people as you lead a squad of soldiers trying to quarantine zones would be kino.

That's true, i played it. But i want it to be more personal. Like what if one of your soldiers starts showing symptoms but you're on low on manpower. Will you send him on a mission or quarantine him?

I think OP meant directly inspired by. I was still going out and working regularly during the pandemic but I remember many nights playing this. Also Fear and Hunger and Towerclimb.

It's too milquetoast for vidya. It's deadly enough to be hassle people IRL but not deadly enough to be interesting in fiction. Why use it when you can use some made-up disease with symptoms that fits the needs of your plot perfectly?
