Final Fantasy XIV's patch 7.5 is imminent. What are you expecting in the build up patch to 8.0?
>>

Finally saying bye-bye to Tural

It is NOT imminent!!!

So how hard are they gonna drop the ball in the final XI raid? And who are the bosses? I would legit have some respect if they had the humility to do Pandemonium Warden. I think Cloud of Darkness or Atomos would be nice.
>>
>>732302214
>So how hard are they gonna drop the ball in the final XI raid?
The XI raid has been pretty embarrassing outside of a handful of cool fights, so I have no hope for the last stretch.
>And who are the bosses?
He said he was going to draw on the power of the gods. Promathia as the last boss is almost guaranteed. Maybe Lilith Ascendant somewhere. A gauntlet fight of the avatars would be cool. There's no way they could do the Fourth Spitewarden or Warrior of Crystal properly because they'd have to assign some kind of canon protag.
>>
>>732302380
I can live with that I suppose.
>>
>>732302380
it'll be like ivalice in the twist is that 3/4 of the final fights are protagonists

i'm also still willing to put money on Shantotto showing up. not a recreation, the real one
>>
All of my FC is leaving to play Midnight, I even tried calling it MIDnight but that didn't convince them to stay, what do I do bros?

>7.5 padding that will show a little cutscene near the end meaning nothing
>7.55 the actual cutscene that will show something that will be retconned in 8.0

I just want calyx dead by 7.5 which is plausible because his jp va is very expensive. I don't give a shit about halmurut. I just want more wol adventure.

tural was a big diarrhea in the kitchen by kate cringewar and hiroi daichi. fuck them both i hope they get cancer.
>>
>>732302548
I'm honestly tempted to try it too. I see they dumbed down classes but I assume they've made fights harder to compensate
>>
>>732302853
Calyx is kino and the Westwolves will save 8.0.
>>
>>732302853
You didn't like making people smile and hearing how much the characters want to make others happy?
>>
>>732302925
They made fights easier to compensate for the fact that they bricked weakauras.
>>
>>732302463
>The entire plot was Shantotto being bored and messing around.
It would be in character. I don't give a fuck though, it would be so disappointing.

I think overall Dawntrail is a good expansion. The 8,0 story was just bad but everything else except Occult Crescent has been fine. Years from now OC is going to be seen as the big slight on it as people go "Wuk who? oh yeah her".

Yoshida said this expansion was throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks while trying to wrap up all the back end updates so i'm hoping Halibut is a sign of a good expansion on the way.

The real question is what the fuck is the none MSQ none Raid content in 8.0? its fair to say OC has been a disaster, Deep Dungeon was great but not nearly as popular as the first two and they need some hook to sell the box price to normies.
>>
Still in the beginning parts of Dawntrail, what I think is bothering me about it is when in past expansions you would have the occasional comedic scene for a bit of levity now seems to be every single cutscene and it gets grating.
>>
>>732305517

>>
>>732305517
>throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks

thats fine. expected even. but dawntrail's msq isn't bad because of solution 9, or wuk lamat (on paper).

as for non raider content, i imagine we'll be getting the foray in 8.1 instead of .2, and if we skip blue mage for 7.5 that'll be in 8.05

The trouble is the new writer is like Toriyama and Lightning, he is so in love with his donut steel OC he doesn't really care about the rest of the cast and i wouldnt be shocked if he didn't even know some of their names. But power through every patch of MSQ is better than the last. The latest in particular cannot be the same writer its writing, pacing and the way characters talk is right out of Shadowbringers.

He's good. He is a hater of the WoL who genuinely believes he is right with the evidence to back it up and sees you as a irritating nuisance. He is very smart, he has a skill set we do not and can fail, crash out and keep going. Love it or hate it thats a complexity recent villains have severely lacked. His motivation isn't power or combat sexual its "the status quo is horseshit and the world has gone mad to accept it" and will go to any means to "fix" things. Which means doing the absolute worst things thinking its for the morally correct reasons. Thats not Zenos thats ARR Gaius.

wtf. i just watched a video that the chinese mobile version of the game has the same housing system of the main game but you can even buy a house with real money (buying game currency) but it seems they did it so bad that sometimes the same house belongs to 4 persons so they had to reset it and this made a ton of players dropping negative reviews and leaving the game and now it seems the global release is uncertain.

Nah, Dawntrail is overall the weakest expansion. I give it credit for having a good bit of content, it's just a shame that a lot of that content is pretty dogshit. Chaotic and OC were total flops, CE isn't as good as Ishgard Restoration, and the job design is the worst it's ever been for basically every single job. Which holds back the content that IS good from being as good as it should be. Pilgrim's Traverse is great and the raids were good, but that's not enough to carry the expansion, especially when the content's been as backloaded as it is. Just like EW is kind of a weak expansion overall because the story and Variant Dungeons weren't enough to carry the extreme lack of content.
>>
to the one anon who recommended it: spent a week on dynamis (seraph) doing my usual roulettes and such.

i encounted two situations:

1: healers are far, far more sassy and annoying than they are on crystal. also, the novice network was filled with karens.
2: there are somehow people worse than crystal players there, and i'm not talking sprouts

Cenote was lame because
>it was immediately resolved with no meaningful pushback or devils advocacy
>so called heckin wholesome chungus king wasn't held accountable for it
>tossed in the trash bin and forgotten as the Solution 9 plot took off
It was not given enough time and weight in an expansion packed to the brim with stupid time-wasting filler garbage. It could have been used as the primary motivating factor for the Tural antagonist (i.e. he is disgusted by the circumstances of his birth, rather than being butthurt and jealous over adopted siblings), but instead we got the retard shit that is DT. That is why no one respects or remembers Zoraal.

Global release was never gonna happen because if you're gonna play mobileshit you'll just play a gacha with hot girls. What does XIV mobile actually have to offer? Gachashit even has huge explorable worlds and action gameplay now, and most of them have better RPG mechanics than XIV even if it's all P2W. The real XIV has more potential for lifestyle content (especially with mods). So what exactly did they think was gonna sell it to anyone?

why did the exact same life and races develop on every shard
>>
>>732314291
Well the official answer from Yoshida is that it's pure coincidence because the sundered races developed through natural evolution. Which is retarded and obviously makes no sense. Maybe they're conceptual parallel humans one of the Ancients dreamed up at some point, maybe Hydaelyn dictated traits from inside the Lifestream, maybe like FFXI the physical traits of each race are sourced from an innate quality of the soul (which probably doesn't work if your WoL is anything but a Hyur).
>>
>>732314291
In recent patches its explained that its all the same aether under the same environmental stresses and all comes from the same source so the differences are only skin deep and cultural until a massive elemental imbalance causes more extreme adaptations under the same rules as the "tempered people turn into elemental egi type monsters eventually" stuff from Shadowbringers.

XIV isn't really dying, it did drop all its momentum from SHB and EW faster than anticipated, but it sits around late SB/early SHB numbers which are fine. What hurts though is that back then there were fewer DCs and no DC visit. Hell, World visit wasn't a thing until later half of SB, so the communities were tighter knit instead of one DC having all activity while rest had niche or none. THAT is why the game feels more lifeless than it did during ARR-SB despite better numbers.

We're never going back to peak SHB and EW numbers, and Yoshida should consider himself lucky he got that much thanks to covid lockdowns as well. I think they do know the expansion needs to release sooner so Winter 2026/before spring 2027 would be my guess Unless it actually is an ARR-tier shakeup, then I dont forsee it coming later than that.

I'm sure you can find some level 100 to carry you through it but if the EX, Sav, and Ult fights are all about, you know the fight itself, then level synch and ilvl synch completely defeats the purpose, new players will literally learn nothing.
This can be easily argued that even current expansion gear will mostly obliterate the 1st tier of savage and only partially shrek the 2nd tier of savage at this point.
97% of the game is doing it blind then you hit Lost Ark right at the end where everyone expects you to look things up well in advance. You're free to argue otherwise but since nobody runs older difficult content synched then why would anyone count it as content?

Go ahead, spool up lvl synch / ilvl synch beginner party for P1S and see if you fill little bro. Hell, do the same for M1S, really put it to the test.
>>
>>732318953
the surprise was about the release date of 8.0, usually the release happens months after the jp fanfest but because it was delayed, people think the next expansion is delayed too.
But then you have to ignore that and just look at the normal development cycle, after a X.5 patch, the next expansion releases 8 months later, that means if 7.5 launches on April, the date will be December.
But then maybe they don't want to release on December because of Xmas so probably is just January.
Then Yoshida's big surprise at the jp fanfest is just "and the expansion comes in two months" and that's it.

Playing through ShB, I had this idea of a teenage WoL who goes through all of ARR with an unrequited crush on Minfilia. He's devastated after losing her but way later he gets together with Ryne in ShB. (And he also gets closure with Oracle!Minfilia)

But then I played the raids and saw how Yuripandering they were. Well, where people see Yuri couples I just see potential threesomes, but I still felt bad cucking Mitron from Lohgriff.

Oh and not that anyone cares but I had this idea of Thancred as the teasing older brother who gives the WoL tips with the ladies. He does so knowing the WoL has no shot at Minfi due to the age gap, but juuuust before the bloody banquet Minfilia shows signs that she might like the WoL back and Thancred freaks the fuck out.

Healthy mix of dense protagonist syndrome and the WoL being more juvenile makes it so Alisaie is naggier towards him. Which in turn makes the WoL think she hates his guts.

>Blitzer
Main GCD is a charged cast to throw the ball, hit damage based on how long you charge.
After the initial hit your job gauge activates, it's Tidus's overdrive minigame. If you hit the bar as it passes over the sweet spot the next GCD autocompletes and your character does a cool kickflip or something to shoot the ball back for max charge damage. You can maintain this indefinitely with proper rhythm.
Weave OGCDs and slick movement abilities while blitzing.
LB3: Ultimate Jecht Shot

>Cannoneer
Mix of AST and PCT, you start with three empty chambers and you can load ingredients in. You start guaranteed with two single target ingredients (Lightning Marble, Blue Fang), two AoE ingredients (Fish Scale, Bomb Arm), one support ingredient (Mega Potion)
Loading an ingredient is a long GCD but otherwise they're instant shots
Fetching new ingredients is an OGCD and somewhat random, you can combine new ingredients with your initial ingredients to mod your GCDs and upgrade throughout the fight.
Say you draw a Turtle Shell, you can load that into your Mega Potion to upgrade the heal into a regen + shield. Or load it into your Bomb Arm to make it leave a lingering fire puddle.
LB3: Leaden Salute

>Gunner
Fast paced GCDs to emulate shooting two pistols at once, Renzokuken mechanics like Viper has. The Viper of phys ranged.
Trigger Happy forces you to stand still and mash like the QTE in WoL's fight, the longer you can maintain the mashing the more damage each hit will do up to a max of 10 seconds.
Backflip movement ability.
Potshot is a long cast GCD with a long weave window for those times you just gotta weave something.
LB3: Desperado (Phys ranged LB2 gets renamed)

Ooo neat. My own was two FF players and somebody who only really knew about FF from video game culture and lusting over White Mage from Mario sports games. It ended up a party of four:
>Dragoon, a runt giant, very high ranking within the dragoons' knightly order and poised to become its captain
>Samurai, catfolk (miqo'te insert), a drifter and pursuer of mythological monsters, demons, etc
>Machinist, human defected to Dragoon's country because a living god in human territories will mulch anything spotted firing a gun, and she likes guns
>White Mage, rabbitfolk (viera insert), sloppy ex-party girl forced to get her act together when gyaru'ing her way through life after college wasn't a reliable option
Cid is present as their mission-giver and main point of contact and is the builder, owner and operator of "Brute Justice: Alexander", a huge tokusatsu mech suit with transforming capabilities. Doing vigilante work in Alexander over the past few decades made enough resident goblins fanatics for the mech, uplifting it to a low form of godhood, and making it rampage from the mind of a burgeoning deity of peacekeeping conflicting with the on-board programming telling it to get back to a repair dock.

Samurai's player took a second character and was given the Shanoa/Allthoughts role of ever so slightly nudging what the party eventually learned was a time loop out of place. Alexander's deity mind was friendly to the party and encouraging them to "take their place in history" by identifying them as Warriors of Light, while its on-board programming registered them as threats while it was control. I don't think I'm following the conversation properly but I'll start a side tangent anyway and say I think they need to start completely removing the structure of xpacs entirely. In fact, they should also play around with mini-xpacs too or something. Everything terrible about xiv ShB onwards has everything to do with the rigid structure of the xpacs, with its shitty dungeon requirements, extremely long drawn out story slop, and even as far back as StB they have shown multiple times that they run out of ideas too quickly to maintain that development cycle. Doma+Ala mhigo, EW's everything, and now DT with Rural and Alexandria shit.
It affects literally everything else downstream, dungeons are consistently worthless content, Dev time is being spent on giant over world's with fuckall and a shit story, most potentially interesting content like raids or forays or etc get back ended while xpac release gives people nothing to do besides another shitty 50 hour story, its all awful.

Most importantly for normies I think it is the absolute biggest filter to getting anybody into the game. Most other MMOs don't have a problem with easily catching players up but xiv is so story loaded with nothing to show in between that it takes people forever just to catch up and play with friends on what is supposed to be a multiplayer game. People who don't have friends don't use MMOs to find people to play something with anymore as everything is so easy to play multiplayer nowadays with randos and discord, not to mention MMOs are just dying as most are staying in a shitty bubble with gacha instead. I can't recommend anybody play xiv earnestly unless they immediately skip the entire story which introduces another can of worm issue. It's just purely unsustainable through and through

Nigger I'm not talking about endgame exclusively, I'm talking about content at all. The biggest Dev resources are either hardcore faggotry autism or literal braindead garbage with very little in-between. I don't think most people want to either spam one fight for several weeks/months or mountains of worthless dungeons/instances for several weeks/months. Like the mob interaction in PT should be the fucking bare minimum, the game already has 0 consequences for death besides a minor time inconvenience 95% of the time and a major time inconvenience otherwise, so where is the hesitancy? Games cannot exist with story alone if they want people to come back and in order to come back it should be more than just "be present and you fulfill 1 out of 100,000 checkboxes". Everything that isn't just the "main content" of dungeons and over world fulfills this, DDs and forays are at least sufficient enough. And its clear that the most amount of Dev time is all the worthless asset creation in making gigantic overworlds meant for all the emote recycling cutscenes, and the mountains of dungeons don't help. They are making way too many """new""" assets for what are basically long hallways of fuckall when most people can be satisfied with even a few shitty looking large maps with plenty to do like forays. Hell I doubt people would care about less ults as a result either because that shit takes up like 10+ developers apparently, the skeleton crew can divvy up resources better to make a better 95% experience and all the fags complaining about the 5% raidslop will play it all anyway so who cares

This is indefensible now. It's a long-held belief that an MMORPG has become dead glamour-slop when they have mounts that are basically just cars even though it's supposed to be a fantasy, because it shows that their desire for money has overriden every other concern.

Looks like that day has come. I could excuse the regalia because it's a reference to another game, even though it was always sitting uneasily on the border. Now it's like they don't even give a fuck and have lowriders fucking hopping everywhere. Gross.

>>
>>732330564
>S9 as a whole existing
There's not wrong with s9. Why would there be? It's another shard, it is a sci-fi/fantasy realm. It's kinda lame how electrope is literally everywhere, but we don't have this kind of shit IRL so it's still fantasy. The problem comes when you just throw a real-life car in there so people can say "hey, I want that real life car" no matter how it fucks the story or setting.

Other notable examples include:
>cellphones outta nowhere because stupid, vapid devs want selfie emotes
>literal starbucks uniforms

The list can only grow from here, and it is VERY worrying.
>>
>>732330759
...except it's a piece of vintage so it fits the sci-fi fantasy you just described. Or did you expect the 9th shard to always have been futuristic?

"Not bad for an antique...
- Vitus quo Messalla"
>>
>>732330932
By that stupid turn of logic, you could call Home Alone a sci-fi movie that just happens to take place in the past.

Idiotic. Besides, the 9th WASN'T always futuristic. We've seen the past of that setting, and been to it plenty. It's robot knights and shit. Not fuckin gangbanger lowriders.

Once again, it's literally just stupid devs being unimaginative and fucking the imagined worlds of better writers so that they can put in cheap IRL shit.

Garlemald is probably the most weird and alien place in the setting. They had vehicles and roads and a city, sure, but everything about their machina is weird and FANTASTICAL. Which is the whole point. It's a fantasy setting, and as I have said before, it's one of the biggest signs of a dying MMO when they put real-world shit in with no explanation, no matter what effect it has on the setting or the story or the lore, to make idiots chuckle and say "lol I know that from real life"

God, I could only imagine being a new player now, getting as far as the central shroud or whatever and just seeing people pumping the hydraulics in a low-rider. That's the kind of shit that makes people stop playing unless they're ALSO retards, which is how you end up with a game full of retards who don't give a fuck about fantasy stuff.

>>

Technology, and especially immortality technology, means security concerns. Any practical leader like Merlwyb would hear about this and say "we need to get this stuff before someone else does". That's how wars start. Or that's how wars would start if the setting wasn't completely raped and gutted.
>>
>>732333325
Eorzea has always been a bunch of pussies.
The only reason they went to war with Garlemald is because Ilberd forced them into it.
If you're gonna call out the writers at least be honest
>>
>>732333442
Garlemald had superior technology so open war was suicide. Even so, Limsa regularly attacked Garlean vessels on the sea to steal their technology. They also started a war with kobolds for resources. Merlwyb isn't a pussy, she's practical. Alexandria doesn't present the same threat Garlemald did because they're pussified bugmen who want papa's peas.
>>
>>732333551

>>

>>
>>732333901
>So you admit that Alexandria isn't a threat
I'm not the original poster you started debating this with, but his claim was that the knowledge of Alexandria having this technology was what would start a war. Not Alexandria itself.
>but Eorzea should still start a war with them because they have some shitty robots and lasers and rezz-technology
Merlwyb from 1.0 to SB absolutely would do that, yes. You can cope by trying to use these weasel words to diminish the impact of that technology, but you know you're being dishonest. Telling the world that this placid nation has life-changing technology including the ability to instantly resurrect the dead (particularly soldiers) would trigger a massive conflict with several nations trying to get that shit for themselves.
>a more expensive WHM replacement
It's not expensive at all though, and it's much more readily available than white mages outside of a handful of Padjal haven't been seen for almost 1600 years.

There's a quest early on where you go to Carvallain for information relating to magitek contraband lifted from Garlean vessels. And in the ROG quests a band of pirates is trying to use a stolen magitek bomb to kill Merlwyb.
>Her suddenly taking interest in Alexandrian' technology would be inconsistent to say the least.
The piracy of Garlean vessels and the war against the Kobolds are both centered around feeding technological growth. Limsa was the most technologically advanced country in the alliance before Ishgard joined (and even then Ishgard's advancements in Skysteel are very recent). Merlwyb was always focused on making sure her country was armed and ready. What most practical leaders would think when they hear about potential reviving soldier technology is "holy shit we need to get that before someone else does because everyone else is going to be thinking exactly what I am right now".
>Someone needs to die so you can use it once
You just need souls in the bank which can be harvested through good old fashioned murder.

Arguing that the other leaders and factions wouldn't be interested in Alexandrian technology is tacitly admitting that the setting has been completely hollowed-out by cat ladies and soibois and is basically a toothless husk of what it used to be.

Nah. It would be the most standard arms race paranoia at BEST. They all just got out of a hugely bloody conflict to dismantle the Garleans, they would want to get in as soon as possible to ensure that situation doesn't happen again. Best case scenario.

But none of that will happen because they writers don't know how to write cleverly, so all of Alexandria is distilled into Sphene who says "hee hee we're all nice now!" and then they all laugh when Graha tries to eat a fish but it's too hot for him.

Are specific examples supposed to be bad? Limsa steals and uses Garlean technology. How about the ceruleum engines they've been putting in their ships for quite a long time?
>They're still running around with standard axes and flintlocks.
Firearms, cannons, and their general naval technology are far and above any other Eorzean state and are much closer to Garlemald, whose only advancement in firearms over Limsa is having revolver cylinders in their guns. You're confused because the setting's technology level has just been utterly raped by later expansions.
>If anyone in Eorzea was murdering people to collect soul, we'd have to put them down.
Yeah, we would. And? We're talking about how conflict would naturally evolve if the game were still written as it was originally, and that can include an ally suddenly becoming an enemy. Besides, the point of this conversation is about other nations fighting each other in a race to get that technology, not what happens if one does. Just the knowledge of that technology would be enough to start a conflict. I don't understand how you're actually sitting here saying that the leaders of all these nations would hear about the potential of immortal soldiers and say "Hmmmmmmmm nah I'll pass lol". Nanamo, Kan-E, Aymeric, sure. But Limsa? Corvos? Doma? Hingashi? Any of the number of recently-freed Garlean territories? You think they're just not gonna care? What?

>Ceruleum and engines aren't exclusive to Garlemald.
Garlemald invented the ceruleum engine and they only became commonplace in Eorzea outside of Limsa after Cid defected. Limsa had ceruleum engines because they stole them.
>If you think there would've been ever been a situation where Merlwyb would've turned out to be some kind of tyrant

>that sucks souls to power her batteries
We're not even at that part yet. We're at the part where many nations hear about the possibility of an immortal army and an arms race triggers because that's how actual people in that situation would act. "If I don't get it, someone else will. And then they're coming for me."

I see where you're coming from but it's merely an assumption and if they wanted to portray her as a tyrant they would make it far more obvious. Writing is very superficial in FF14 and there's no more depth to characters besides what they directly tell you through dialogue.

Does it annoy you that I'm right? Merlwyb is not the secretly vicious tyrant that you think she is. Some small detail about her being in office for that long is just a mere slip up from writers. And if we're assuming maybe she won the Trident twice. The writers don't do a lot of subtext except if you'd count real life parallelisms as such, like Ishikawa's allusions to dealing with loss

Why are you still ignoring the illegal war she waged for 15 years?
>Some small detail about her being in office for that long is just a mere slip up from writers.
It's not a slip up, it was written that way from her introduction in 1.0. That's the intended lore. She took control of Limsa and started wrangling them the way she wanted them.
>And if we're assuming maybe she won the Trident twice.
She only won it once, it hasn't been held since.

I wouldn't say its the most popular since the pandemic. The 1/2 punch of EW's patches and DT's 7.0/7.1 crappiness hurt the game. But looking at Steam at least for a sample, it seems to have stabled out for now at least

Soon as the aether around Alexandria normalizes and they don't have a 24/7 influx of lightning storms they're gonna lose everything, they'd better work fast; we don't have a roadmap for how long areas take to de-aspect from one overbearingly powerful element, closest is Ryne saying it's gonna take a while for Eden pumping the area full of balanced aether to spread to the rest of the planet
>>
>>732348825
Damn I need to try these body shapes sometime. Which one is this?
>>
>>732349505
You picked the worst first job which is unfortunate. You are 42 so you should have Firestarter as a trait by now (unless it's 44) so you need to spam Fire 1 and hope Fire 3 procs for free to deal single target damage. Hopefully you're not spamming ice spells exclusively as that's not how the job plays.
BLM used to be much worse as leveling if you'd believe it. Much much worse...even before DT completely gutted it's class identity. It won't start feeling decent until 70, moderately decent at 80, and then good 90, and breddy good 100.
>>
>>732351286
It’s amazing that it’s impossible for a new MMO to ever do this kind of natural growth ever again.
Expectations are way too high for what should be available on release. If you’re not launching with infinite endgame and constant updates, everyone will leave. Like how New World is ending, or how Ashes of Creation became a rugpull once they realized they were in over their heads with what they were promising.
And even then, I’d argue that modern gamers want instant drop in gameplay satisfaction. Like how Helldivers literally does that to start shooting things. Slow burn RPGs just aren’t in demand nowadays.
>>
>>732348812
Lmao, what a denial. Next expansion is very likely in Feb 2027. They are never releasing something very close to the fanfests or shortly after it.
>>

>>732334312
If we're being realistic here:
>VPR
A defense utility. Maybe a personal shield with no party benefits like SMN.
Serpent's Ire (The 2min buff) gets a finisher.
>PCT
Maybe a new weapon motiff (that does the same exact garbage like muse motiffs)
A finisher for Star Prism's

Boring like that. Remember, DT brought us NOTHING interesting for any of the existing jobs (looking at you AST)

>>
>>732352528
Which patch timings? 7.5 is coming out very likely either after or before the NA fanfest, and it's just the first half of the MSQ. Then 7.55 like 2 months afterward. So like June, if 7.5 comes out in April or July if 7.5 comes out in May.

Just an example. 6.5 came out in October 2023 and 6.55 in January 2024. From 6.5 to 7.0 it was like 9 months. So, if 7.5 is out in April, Jan 2027 will be the earliest release date. If 7.5 is out in May, it'll be Feb 2027 instead.

Just an example. 6.5 came out in October of 2023 and 6.55 in January 2024. From 6.5 to 7.0 it was like 9 months.
>>
>>732353010
I can very much see BLM getting special attention with 8.0 because nobody working on it for 7.X had any idea of what they were doing
>>
>>732352328
Its the exact same patch duration as EW->DT. Unless they have some reason to make it even longer this time which would be a terrible PR decision.
>>
>>732353137
It's not. From 6.5 to 7.0 it was 9 months apart. And 7.5 isn't even out yet and it's going to be out in around 2 months or 3 from now.
>>
>>732351286
>>732352240
I enjoyed Alexander more but also enjoyed Coils and being a babby and wow-ing at the cool raiders who beat savage coil before I even cleared T7 while some middle aged mom in my static lectured me in high school about life or whatever it was
ARR was still so magical to me. Huge, good-looking, world to explore. Variations in how to level. Tons of variations between jobs, so there was always a lot to learn whenever you picked a new one up
No idea how they could ever do that again in the game now though
>>
>>732353202
Its in April, though im pretty sure they never put .5 out before fanfest to avoid spoilers so it'll be the last week in April.
>>
>>732353397
Then, basically 7.5 it's out the 28th of April. After a few days, the NA fanfest is over. Which will still put 8.0 release date at the end of January or early Feb 2027.
>>
>>732353124
I dont think they do now, considering High Fire/Blizzard still exists and transpose rotation.
The special attention I expect from them is finally adjusting BLM low level jank of having a different gameplay every 20 levels.

There is zero indication so far in .4 that tells where 8.0 will be. We have a series of options

>Going to Ilsabard because the twins seem insistent on returning to Garlemald
>Going to really any other surviving reflection using the special key
>>
>>732355769
Im going to assume the lore drops Emet gave us were genuine expansion plans for the future. Tural happened. Meracydia will happen. Blindfrost will happen but I wonder if it will be large enough to contain all the zones or be part of a bigger Ilsabard expansion. If were going off their 10 year plan they will have one for Meracydia, Ilsabard and one other reflect/series of reflections.

>Something like a global cooling event happens because of a massive magical artic vortex forms on Blindfrost Isles
>We travel up through Ilsabard during the expansion and Blindfrost is the final zone
>Halmarut probably helps us fix it; teaches us more about the key and how to maintain balance with the reflections

Alexandria literally built heaven for themselves though, creating a deathless digital paradise. Allegans were shit by comparison, and could barely even bring one guy back to life fucked up, and even then it wasn't allegan tech that did it, but Ascians.
>>
>>732351554
Nope. Electrope can hold massive amounts of lightning aether for a long time, and it's everywhere. Even THAT would be enough for the entire world to be banging down their door, considering how dependent they are on shit like ceruleum.
>>
>>732356910
NPCs mention stuff doesn't work outside the dome for very long, which is probably a big reason of why Alexandria retreated totally and immediately every time they attacked. Game doesn't go into it very often, but Alexandria isn't actually going to be an Allagan level society for a lot longer. Like I said, they'd better act fast if the entire rest of the planet suddenly becomes aware they have electrope technology, and they'd also better start becoming completely dependent on it, saturating the world with lightning aspect through industry and technological dependence, or else electrope isn't going to continue to work. Batteries don't last forever even IRL

"Everybody is pounding on Alexandria's doors for electrope" requires a a couple of missed snippets of dialogue and a lot of assumptions to reach as a conclusion imo. >>732356503
Halmarut is either the big bad for 8.0 or a tagalong deuteragonist. You can have a natural disaster be the main threat. FF7 showed this off well. The final conflict was eliminating Sephiroth who was preventing the planet from defending itself

I think Halmarut will be around for multiple expacs. One thing I thought they spelled out pretty clearly but most people didn't pick up on in the MSQ was that her form of shard travel couldn't carry full vessels. This was A. To explain why Calyx is in a meme squirrel vessel. But also B. A hint that next time we see Halmarut, she will have she'd traveled and acquired a new vessel by necessity.

So there's going to be an element of "one of these NPCs we think is our friend is actually an Ascian in disguise" again.

Thought he reason why I think she'll be around for longer is that she seems more like a manipulative villain than a fighting one. I think she'll try to convince us to do something to save the shards, that ends up serving some alternate goal. Probably to do with Life Trees. Next expac will be about planting a Life Tree in the Blindfrost to restore aether to the area and see if we could "save" the first and the ninth that way. But trying to reverse shards that have already caused calamities will end up being a very bad idea.

i don't think Halmarut is going to look significantly different, her appearance and her attention to that aspect is pretty intentional.

unless we don't see her in her aura form again. then pretty much anyone we don't know would be a possible mark. she doesn't seem stupid enough to try to bodyjack a scion

i really wonder why square enix do these free logins, because if they did not, probably i will buy a sub at 7.35 and 7.55 but with the game barely having content, im not paying a full month to just play the msq, dungeon, trial and arcadion for one day and the next 29 days just farming paste.

I caught a 3day ban for telling people to kill themselves in the death walls of Castrum Lacus Latori on the final boss because they early pulled.
You know how it was back in early bozja, fucking shitters who died waiting for other people to take a mettle hit to come rez them and then like 6 people being rezzed early pulled and dragged the other 42 into the arena just to wipe again.

The ToS they link stated I should have gotten a warning or something but 3day ban is all they do, the useless fucks.

Yes
>>All Society's at Rank 8

>>Occult Crescent Capped
Not yet, 9 jobs capped I think? It's one of the most boring things they've ever added, I'll get to it eventually
>>Cosmic Exploration tools capped
All but fisher, which I'm on the last tier
>>Phantom Relics capped
Got two relics completed this step so far
>>PVP season completed
I'll grab the emote, there's no glamour this series, and I've no interest in ranked rewards
>>All raids beaten
I have no desire to get a static, nor do raids in DF on EU servers(or anywhere else for that matter) so it'll only be normals for me

>most of the good music in Endwalker and Shadowbringers wasn't even him it was the other composers on the ff14 music team who never get recognised
I discovered recently the Urqopacha day theme was composed by Saya Yasaki, and it's definitely up there in my favourite overworld themes. I wonder just how many tracks get attributed to Soken just for having the lead composer position

>I wonder just how many tracks get attributed to Soken just for having the lead composer position
Well considering that he gets attributed to every single song by people who know nothing about how the game is made and how the music is composed.
It's because he's Sound lead much like Yoshida gets the credit for the good parts of FF14 like when the story was good even though he didn't write it nor did he create any of the characters he still got a lot of the credit.

There are apparently between 8-10 composers who work on the game but like I said 99% of the people who play this game will only be aware of Soken's name.
>>
ArcadionGODS won bigly. they will never make another raid tier close to as good as it.
