It used to be a niche thing to metafag and copy the top players, most people were casual and just did whatever was fun. They weren't looking up tierlists for what characters to pick, what items are good, what grenade lineup up to throw etc. People just played the fucking game, mostly in their own circles.Nowadays everyone watches streamers or youtube guides and every competitive game has several top 100 players streaming regularly. Even people who suck ass still try to copy the best of the best and flame anyone who isn't playing "correctly".

PVP involves being an NPC where you have to play as the same, best character/class, ability combination, gear, etc... as everyone else in order to win. Inevitably, the "sweats", Players who try way too hard to win, will come in with optimal cookie-cutter meta-builds and dominate the game to such a degree that basically nobody else is allowed to play and have fun. This drives other players away from the game and, if the game is online and/or relying on a constant influx of funding, can lead to the game shutting down.Playing against bots lets you enjoy the game without having to worry that a bunch of sweaty losers are going to ruin it for everyone. Competitive/Sweaties are fucking NPC's who do not play for fun, they play to fill a void of failure within their souls.Go ahead, respond and surrender to me with something like "filtered", "noob" or "skill issue". Optimal/Meta-Gaming isn't skill-based, it's copying someone else's homework because you lack the skill and creativity to win on your own.
