I'm very interested in the story and lore of Resident Evil, but the games sound like a real chore to play. Being stressed out about trying to find bullets or figure out when is a good place to save doesn't sound fun to me.

The ammo scarcity and save points are both myths. In all three classic REs you get enough ammo to kill all monsters, including bosses, at least twice. Thrice if you're talking about RE3.In RE2, if you are careful, you don't even need to save. Not even once. And none of this require practice either.Also the lore is very funny, you shouldn't sweat it lmao

You can't even go back and check Darkside Chronicles anymore, the game that explains how Leon and Krauser met, because 4Remake retconned it. Every 3 games is an entire shift in subgenres so it stays fresh even on a marathon.1 and 2 have limited saves like you mention but it feels very natural. The remake for 1 has modes which give you more saves to the point where it doesn't matter. The remake for 2 and even the original version of 3 each have modes that give you infinite saves.1 is also so short you can finish it as a newcomer before this thread archives instead of just bitching about it.

Not all gamers have cut their teeth on concepts or understand how they work or their limitations. I remember when I turned off my Playstation when I first encountered Nemesis.
