Yeah, looking at the image it sure is surprising me.

Yes, that's how uncapped framerate works.
>>

not bad honestly, my amd idles at that much while only watching youtube videos lol

DLSS preset K Quality looks great
>>
it's 95% as powerful as a 1080ti, at 40% the power draw. if games weren't unoptimized as fuck all it would be considered pretty damn good.
>>
The best graphics card is the one you own. Assuming it works, that is.
Even in this era of unoptimized garbage, even the fucking 3060 can still run every single game in what I would consider a playable state. And yes 30fps with heavy use of DLSS is indeed playable, ignore anyone on 4chan who says otherwise, they're completely out of touch, look at the current popularity of FF7 Remake on Switch 2 for proof of what people consider good enough.

I'm glad that I bought a 5080 FE so that I don't have to put up with fake frame input lag crutches.

a little overkill but not really when you factor that 5080 at 1440p will still be elite for at least another 6 years.
>>
>>732319705
even 3050 is good enough for your average gamer, just look at the steam gpu survey
those techtuber opinion is just inrelevant for the masses
>>
>>732320780
Not him, but I just got a 1440p OLED for my 5080. Will use my previous 1080p IPS for work.

I wanted to meme it up with 5080, 1080p, ray-tracing max settings, but that shit is just too noisy at 1080p.

I feel like ray/path tracing is still a meme, it is futuristic graphics tech that they're trying to force onto us a decade or two early just to scam money from people with overpriced products.
>>
>frametime: 15.4ms
>recognize that 16 and 2/3rds is 60fps
>there are 1000ms in one second
>reports 73fps
>1000 / 15.4 = 64 fps
Looks like nothing there makes any fucking sense. The framerate listed is impossible with that frametime.
>5050 is a good card?
Apparently in a way that is physically impossible, yes.
>>
>>732319705
I play new video games on medium settings with my 8 year old 1080
Tech enthusiasts are so far up their own asses in chasing the newest crap that they’re completely oblivious to reality
>>
>>732321207
The 750 was so cool because you could slap it in literally any computer with a PCIE slot and match the then-new PS4 and Xbox One in any game
>>
>>732321207
grim, 5050 could had been great but at that price theres no reason to not go for a 5060
>>
>>732319705

woooow so cool thank you jensen for gimping every gpu in favor of datacenter trash

thinking of getting a 3050 to build a bazzite box with an old ryzen 5 2600 and some ddr4 i have sitting around from an old build. was almost tempted to get an arc pro b50 but then i learned arc cards have massive cpu overhead issues with older cpus

why did intel drop the ball for budget pc gamers?
>>
>>732323340
Because they want you to get a cheap i5 12400F.
>>
>>732324089
are those bad?
>>
>>732324208
No, its a cheap Intel CPU that has Rebar and other memes needed for Intel GPUs to work well.

If you're getting Linux, why are you forking money for Nvidia? AMD cards would work much better.
>>
>>732324289
people have gotten rebar working on ryzen 2000, it's mainly a mobo bios thing.
>>732324208
they're fine, but theoretically i can overclock my 2600 to get it on par with the 12400f performance and clocks. games barely touch my CPU on my ayaneo slide with a ryzen 7 7840u which i don't need because i don't go anywhere outside of the house to play videogames

only comparable small form factor card from amd is the 6400, and it's shit in comparison. the nvidia driver situation on linux is getting better, especially with ada cards and later

i wanna build something to fit in a jonsbo nv10 and the 3050lp is the only reasonably priced card that fits and doesn't have issues with the r5 2600
>>
>>732324682
RTX 3050 6GB (2024) isn't that bad for its power consumption (75W). You'll need to rely on DLSS a lot but it's still quite good for what it is. It also has a decent amount of cuda cores. It's almost completely silent too.
If you can get one used for cheap I'd get it.

>>
>>732324760
To add: The problem with these Nvidia's "budget" GPUs is the fact that they are not worth the full price. If you can get them less than half price as used, then they are worth something but otherwise it makes more sense to go for 5060 or whatever else unless you are power limited or looking for a real workstation card.
>>
>>732321304
The problem with ray tracing is that you never need them in the first place. Graphical difference doesnt matter in game, you can always beat a vidya in the lowest setting with the lowest minimum of 30 or even 24 fps back then and people never complained about it. But devs started to push this ray tracing and dlss, shifting the focus from game design to vidya looks, completely altering the entire AAA industry from video game into something similar to film. The worst part of it is that no one asked for it
>>
>>732322076

You dont need a 4k screen unless youre a graphic design or people working on post production
