>cave diving>decide to observe enemies for a bit>they have a moment of lucidity where they stare at their hands and weepdidn't expect that. is there any lore explains what they are or even what they're called?

Oh and they're called drifters and they're humans who contracted a disease known as the rot which twisted their bodies into what you see and merged them with rusty machines

Here is my plan for when I play vintage storyFeel free to feel my autism about a game I haven't yet played>primary base is a wizard tower, which will be built level by level in a good location with an excellent view>floor plan will be huge due to the 14x requirement for being considered indoors>central column is a 5x5 staircase to ascend and descend. Covered, of course, perhaps with chissled blocks to give more space in the rooms>each level of the tower will be 7 in height, 1 floor, 5 tall walls, 1 ceiling. The floor of the next level will go above the ceiling of the previous one. This is for two purposes.>One) to be able to allow for indoor water blocks with little hassle for the greenhouse level>Two) to be able to have each level have a different color of planks, because each floor WILL be a different color. As many floors as there are colored planks/logs in the game. This can obviously be shortened to one block that's chissled to be two colors, but that gets in the way in the long run>having a 5 space house also allows for 3 tall windows, which will look nice>different floors will have different purposes for everything you can do in the game>each floor will then be subdivided into rooms to fit in the 14x requirement. This also means including the central column, the maximum this can be is roughly a 32 block diamater>every two levels the tower will shrink in size inwards by a block or by whatever feels natural. eventually, after halfway, it will expand out again, to give that classic wizard tower shape>basement of the tower is a proper cellar for food storage>top of the tower is the crown jewel. There are crimson maple trees that are very rare. The very center block of the tower on the top level will have a crimson maple tree planted so it can grow at the very tippy toppity top>final level will be larger than 7 blocks and will be built to accommodate this tree specifically
>large observation type windows, perhaps the entire wall made of glass so you can see the tree from afar. Perhaps no glass at all and it's an open air balcony type deal>cone roofing will be whatever matches the color of the crimson maple leaves as closely as possible. All chissled to perfection>on the bedroom level, which will be about halfway up the tower or perhaps a bit higher, there will be a balcony facing the best view of the place>most of the way up the tower, there will be a floating air crystal, diagonally, some distance away. This air crystal, made out of glass and whatever other shinny white materials there are, is actually the housing for a 4x windmill system, which all feeds and seeds down into workshop beneath. This means it wont technically be floating, as the power needs to be routed down, but there might be a way to hide those spinning parts, idk>surrounding the tower will be all of the various other things that wont fit inside it, like the domesticated animals and the farms and whatnot>the tower will also obviously be built near a river for the waterwheel to be easy to incorporate, perhaps in the main workshop that's underneath the air crystal>chissling all of this will take 100h minumumRate my ideaI've not played the game yet btw

>>732322810>>732322845sounds pretty neat. i'd recommend downloading conquest landform overhaul if you want to build your wizard tower on top of a mountain, since vanilla mountains and world gen are a bit ass.
