How should he act and interact with others while diagnoisng them? How do i make him seem professional and detached from intimate connections from his patient while still assessing them at a deep level assisting them in their journey of healing?
>>732335323Sir, this is /v/.

>>732335323In my experience therapists never act professional or seem to really know what they're doing. Rather they just come off as normies trying really hard not to crack jokes or laugh at everything and most of their replies sound exactly like a chatbot. Like half of what a therapist does is give you generic wellness advice you'd find ifln the first page of google results and the other half is to vaguely threaten you with institutional violence. It's a lot like talking to a lawyer.

>>732335323Regardless of their degree, being a therapist has little to do with psychology. It's just listening to people talk about shit they wouldn't talk about with others and helping them think things through while pointing out obvious stuff and putting it in perspective.Therapists also hate being asked actual advice like "what should i do?" because they're obviously not gonna take responsibility for anything that goes wrong.
>>732336636So he just needs to listen?
>>732336949Yes
>>732336329>Like half of what a therapist does is give you generic wellness advice you'd find ifln the first page of google resultsIf a friend actually hammered it in then a lot of people would improve, but therapists are not friends. In theory that's good so they're professionals giving "objective" advice but people need someone they can actually trust.
>>732335323Play Katana Zero, at least the first few stages. I found the main character's interactions with his therapist or psychiatrist rather to be rather convincing

>>732335323>therapist>goodTherapists are useless unless you are retarded enough to be unable to look at your own decisions and realize which were good / bad. If you are that stupid then the therapist can say whatever feelgood shit and youe retarded ass will lap it up.To answer your question though, some kind of magagement game where you run a therapist office / brand (dependening on if you want the scope to be a single business or multi business) with the goal being to assess your clients to wring out as much money as possible, just enough sessions that they are willing to keep paying but not too much so they dont realize you are a hack leeching them dry.

>>732336393GTA did a good job showing a scammer therapist. Copy him but only halfway, specifically when he interrupts Michael when he is on the brink of improving himself. The reason being that interruption is meant to stop the patient from succeeding and thus you will make more money. No interruptions and the patient will improve.

>>732335323A good therapist is rarely found practicing his profession in a typically expected setting.Do they exist? Sure. Do you recognize them because they're sat in a quiet rented office and can only talk to them 1 hour only to open wounds they won't take responsibility for?Shall a therapist only be defined by the current era expectation of what therapy is?Is therapy only psychological? Can you really fix human problems if you don't get dirt on your hands? Can you really fix human problems?Don't give a shit about the answers. That's your job.
>>732335323Watch the Sopranos. It gets it pretty wrong in so many ways BUT it does a decent job of showing the function of a good therapist is asking the right questions. A good therapist isn't telling you what you are, they are asking questions meant to make you think in new ways about yourself. Then they suggest options of how to look at things, and options for what to do.They are always one step ahead, but that doesn't always mean they're in the right direction. A good therapist is like someone holding your hand and guiding you, but you maintain input and if they go the wrong way you correct course.
My therapist was great. I developed ptsd and claustrophobia. She would use truck ties to strap me into a chair and force me to go into panic attacks so that I would have to use the breathing techniques we had practiced to get over being a little bitch.
