>>732341416Id say it's like Top down ground zeros go guns blazing, move in the shadows or sprint around while throwing shit to distract the guardsit's all up to you Weapons feel good once you lean to use them and ghosting also feels great and the has a lot replay value
Stealth encompassing stuff like Splinter Cell, MGS, Intravenous and also shit like 4 player co-op horror slop is total dogshit. We all know they aren't the same thing.
>>732341770 Also worth noting the dev dropped a sequel, Intravenous 2, and it cranks the paranoia and tactics up even more. Dynamic patrols, layered stealth systems, customizable gear-it’s like Hotline Miami met Splinter Cell in a dark alley. Total sleeper hit.
>>732340942We're still getting Styx games I suppose with the latest coming out in a few weeks
>>732342271Nobody considers streamerbait friendslop stealth games though
>>732342520Steam user tags do which makes trawling for indie stealth games a pain in the ass.
>>732341262Aww, no need to cry, thirdie. One day you'll be able to afford to come here.
>>732342430I have NEVER seen gameplay of this shit, so I just decided to watch the gameplay trailer for Blades of Greed.>movement looks like an UE parkour slop game>the goblin is talking all the time, narrating everything.>you can just melt away any downed enemies, because the little green fucker is too weak to carry them. No, I don't like this.
>>732343032Look at the older ones. They are challenging
>>732343032>>you can just melt away any downed enemies, because the little green fucker is too weak to carry themDidn't use this feature at all in the first game, i just wack the enemies or when i did the no kill run, i focus on not getting detected, it's also limited to 2 uses so it's completely useless unless you are in a tight area
>>732341416>>732341770Also feels great once you from "fuck patrol always gets me" to "gotta bump up the difficulty because i am running circles around these retards " it feels god
>>732343032The appeal of these games completely hinges on you thinking playing as a smartass goblin is funny enough to carry an entire game.
Isn't a new Styx game coming out soon? The goblin one.
>>732341062>I could care lessI wish we could publicly execute or at least remove the tongue from everyone who says this. I COULD CARE LESS IMPLIES YOU DO CARE TO SOME DEGREE YOU FUCKING NIGGER.

reminder that solid snake is the new operator for rainbow six siege for whatever reasonthis is going to be the first time in almost 20 years solid snake voiced by david hayter will have a speaking role
The GOAT
>>732341416Combination of MGS mechanics (walking or crawling) with Splinter Cell (light and sound meters)The selling point to me is enemy behaviours, this is what I always shill when Intravenous comes up, the enemies are really fun to play aroundMost stealth games I reload if spotted but in Intravenous the enemies do things like hold corners, shout for help, shout insults at you (which you can return) and hunt you in groupsOn my first playthrough I still reloaded when caught until this great level where you're being hunted from the beginning and you simply have to kill everyone - it was hard but I realised how fun the john wick gameplay style was and I immediately started playing the whole game like that
>>732347321Did they bring hayter in to record new lines, or just reuse existing lines
>>732347198It's a mute point, people understand what is being said irregardless .Anyways, let's get down to brass tax and discuss stealth games
>>732340942I heard Hitman Freelancer would be the best the game has to offer but it's so boring. The story missions and challenges are way more fun
>>732348169no confirmation but hayter and konami are on good terms and the new op will need new voice both for the inevitable cinematic as well as for the game itself i dont see why konami will try and burn bridges to the closest thing they have connected to kojima by hiring some rando VA
>>732340942It’s going to be a very, VERY long time before we get another stealth game that tops Nu-Hitman. It’s basically the perfect stealth game, with its only flaw being IO’s greedy business model.>>732347110I disagree. The second game is just different. It’s more Tenchu and less Splinter Cell.
>>732340942Been playing helldivers 2 since they added a stealth playstyle. Its fun
>>732348304My problem with Freelancer is when the challenges are contradictory or something impossible like "hide all bodies when your target is in a massive crowd of people they never leave"That and the fact it needs to always be online.
>>732340942Gloomwood was neat, for the all of 10 hours of content it had
>>732348789you're not supposed to complete all of them, just go for the highest payout/lowest riskotherwise you're going to spend an entire day just to complete a single campaign
>>732348789Freelancer missions are much more fun when you just rush through them and improvise on the go, I never pick the Silent Assassin bonus objective
>>732348172It's a doggy dog world and people who know good english are a diamond dozen
>>732348976Nah you are in that mode I can't think of because I never play it. If you fail any of those objectives you fail the whole thing. They might have patched it by now, but people complained about it for fucking ages.>>732349015I'm too autistic to rush through it like that. I need to play it properly, the way Diana tells me to.
freelancer officially needs more map variations. it just doesn't feel as procedural as promised. i think there's a mod that adds the dlc night map etc
>which>could care less>intensive purposes>mute point>irregardless>merely pretendingFuck off.
Why don't they remake this gem?
>>732349351>he missed twoshameful
>>732340942play her game
The only stealth games I liked were the Mimimi RTTs but niggas went and did a tactical cash-out during the peak of the DEI nonsense. Good for them I guess but I hope someone else would fill in that void.
>>732340942
>>732349847I asked them why the black lady was dressed like a navy officer and their response was:>because she's a pirate, she could have stolen the clothesI don't know if it's ESLs accidentally saying something like that or if they were trying to dogwhistle something, but it was funny.
>>732350091>Milk DEI money>But still be racist at the same timeThat's the real "Shadow Tactics"
>>732349983kek
>>732349847The DEI shit was just the easily noticed and complained about thing because it's right there on the cover. It was clear from playing it that mimimi had used up all their juice with Shadow Tactics and Desperados. It's stretched thin in a real bad way and it does not compare favorably to their previous two stealth tactics games.
>>732340942>Tfw this video is now 7 years old>Tfw when realize even Sam Fisher got got>Hitman is the last one standing nowFuck.....the stealth genre is going the way of immersive Sims. I can't accept....thishttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vlnh0KLVJJ0
>>732349290What kind of map would you like to see? It feels like the kind of game where there are so many possibilities, but I'm such a retard I can never even think of even one that isn't just a rehash of an old one.
deus ex was stealth game?
>>732350920Friends with Thief so it snuck in through the backdoor
>>732349290Hitman needs to have day and night versions of every map. Night could have stuff like less people and security but more suspicious guards etc
>>732351572Disagree considering how important routines are in hitman. It's not a super dynamic game, it's about interrupting cycles in interesting ways.
>>732351572I’d personally prefer it if they continued to expand Freelancer rather than doing Celebrity Elusive Targets every month. Those ET missions are well designed, but they’re very gimmicky, and the Connor MacGregor one shows that all it takes is for the celebrity they’re depicting to do something bad and then they have to remove that mission forever. IMO, they should take notes from the modding community and implement some of the things they’ve added.
>>732352514Except Freelancer is all about improv. Freelancer is the game’s equivalent of a post-game superboss that tests your ability to adapt on the fly.
>>732352514You can just have the main version of the map and then a remixed version with a new target. Which WoA already does. I just want more map variety in Freelancer
>Hitman is a good stealth ga.....
>>732353258Manipulating AI behaviours is a staple of stealth games. There’s no way you could figure something like this out without hundreds of hours of experimentation.
>>732353616I have played 1400 hours
>>732349290>retardedly brazen speedrun strat actually worksits more common than you may think
>>732340942somebody here played eriksholm? i think the protag is cute because don't have that stupid "girl boss" hair cut, btw is good or woke?
>>732354192Hitman is actually the most realistic stealth game ever made ironically enough because just acting like you belong and wearing the right outfit will allow to infiltrate a surprising amount of places IRL too. The whole “crouchwalk everywhere and hide in shadows” style of stealth that Thief and SC popularised actually isn’t realistic in the slightest.
I am playing Watchdogs One Invasion mode and it is fun. You need to ask to Ubisoft through a ticket to unlock network capabilities in your copy in the Steam version or you need to buy a copy of the game in Ubisoft Store to unlock the networking capabilities in the Steam version. That is what I did. It is a fucking shame. I don't understand how Ubisoft can make such stupid executive decisions.
>>732355530I was interested but there's only one right way to do most missions so it's more of a puzzle than stealth
>>732357014Ubisoft after the masters of taking a good idea and finding ways to screw it up. It’s why Assassin’s Creed went to shit after Patrice left the company.
>>732353258>you can break the game if you do all these very specific thingsyou can also download the cheat engineit's only problem when it happens during normal playthrough >>732356953yeahYou can definitely tell some one is in close proximity even if there's no noise
>>732348526>It’s basically the perfect stealth gamelet's not get carried away, coin throwing simulator is far from perfect
>>732356953>wearing the right outfit will allow to infiltrate a surprising amount of places IRL toonigga you only need to wear one thing to blend anywhere
>>732357014>It is a fucking shame. I don't understand how Ubisoft can make such stupid executive decisions.About a decade ago probably more at this point, everyone was pushing for their own store trying to do what Valve did. Ubisoft was one of the worst about it. You get people to use your store, you're not having to pay publisher fees to anyone else so first step is forcing people to use your 3rd party launcher/store on top of Steam. It's a cancerous anti-pattern, so of course it never actually got people to switch over fully from Steam because why would I embrace this anti pattern? Tried to play Blackflag about a year ago, and I was required to setup a uplay account. It had been awhile since I played it, couldn't remember if I had made one before or not, and just ended not playing Blackflag because it was such a bother. Bioshock is another example of this, but you can bypass the 2k games launcher.
>>732340942Poser-ass image
>>732350920you could play in stealth
>>732357373It's not even all that specific honestly. It's just that these bodyguards that follow the targets sometimes have specific AI that for some reasons go into this dazed state or something if you aim a gun in their face and put it away. During these seconds i kill her with poison and when he comes to it's counted as an accident poison kill.
>>732340994Write a fucking treatise without any mistakes on the first try, faggot.
>>732341262They also don't write shit like "per say" and are less likely to confuse their, there and they're.
>>732357451It’s basically the exact same principle of “people seeing uniforms and not faces” as Hitman puts it. People who complain about Hitman’s AI being dumb severely overestimate the average person’s situational awareness. If you were a wagie just trying to do their job and focusing on your own thoughts, you wouldn’t think twice about a bald office worker that you’ve never seen before.
hitman is fucking boring, run around like a retard and play dress up until you figure the perfect strategy outstealth games should be about coping with the inevitability of confrontation, you pop one or two guys before the permadeath forces you to restart the entire game
>>732357863I think what’s happening under the hood is that target bodyguards are programmed to go into a lockdown phase when either they or the target are alerted in some way. They’re likely pausing for a second while their internal logic tries to figure out whether the target is alive or dead and what safe area to escort the target too if they’re alive. There’s also the fact that NPCs in general become blind for a few seconds when alerted, which is something speedrunners exploit.
>>732358468I think you're right. But you can't generally alert other guard NPCs in this way by pointing a gun at their face. You'd have to bodyshot them or scare them some other way while not being seen. If they associate you with that shot you lose green guns.
>>732358326You can play Hitman without changing outfits. I'm not sure if the entire series is doable that way but all of the WoA ones are.
>>732358326>hitman is fucking boringmaybe you're fucking boringever considered that genius?
>>732358643Detection is finicky with guards because of how it’s possible to aggro them without them actually seeing you. This can lead to situations where they’re pointing their guns at you or shooting at your last known position, but you still have Silent Assassin because the detection meter didn’t fill up completely. It’s really inconsistent though, so producing something like that WebM would likely take hours of trial and error.
Give me an immersive sim stealth game about a city under martial law. Some linear, focused levels, some big hubs. Maybe day and night cycles. By day I ask around, read up on things, take on jobs and by night I sneak around, do the jobs. I can set things up during the day or night to use later. Could be fantasy, realistic, modern, sci-fi.
>>732359129It's very consistent with this particular guard. You can get it more often than not.
>hitman>stealth
>>732359397you can finish entire game without using any disguise just pure hide-seek and distractions
>Hitman is a puzzle game actually
>>732359624I finished all the missions on master difficulty, without saving, fiber wire only kills and only using coins and the pistol. No other equipment. The game is extremely open ended and you could definitely finish it with even more restrictions.t. >>732353258
>>732359397is social stealth. it's alright.
>>732359136>Give me an immersive sim stealth game about a city under martial law. Some linear, focused levels, some big hubsThat's just dishonored Later part is nuhitman but there's no day life cycle
>>732357823the deus ex games always rewarded stealth and punished goober face on exposure
>>732359714suit only silent assassin rating too, obviously
>>732359714>game is messed up if you exploit specific weakness then don't do it i don't even minn max in any game unless i have to because it's not fun
>>732359934It doesn't take away from my respect or enjoyment of the game. My initial post was some hecking rage baiterino. I like that you can bend the game over your knee a little once you learn the intricacies of it.
Genuinely, what the fuck were IO thinking with this level?
>>732360145It's not that bad. Every game has its weakest link. Also I love the american farm setting
>>732340942>stealth game threadYou dont need to make a stealth thread, this is a video game board
>>732358106>baldlol no, i always wondered why they used a bald dude for hitman games, in my job (office fag) always that a bald dude enters to the office we start making jokes about the random bald dude that just enter to the office
>>732360796>always that a bald dude enters to the office we start making jokes about the random bald dude that just enter to the office
>>732360271>It's not that badIt's okay now. It was actually just that bad on launch before they added the grass.
>>732358953>I'm not sure if the entire series is doable that wayDo you mean right from Codename:47? I only started playing from 2 and as far as I know everything from then onward is, assuming there's no missions where you start in something outside of your usual suit. It's a bit like how you can complete all missions as accidents or whatever outside of maybe a couple where you have to kill someone.
I really don't care for the sandbox style of the new Hitman games and how they are pretty much just funny kill simulators. This shit is peak to me
>>73236079647, is that you?
