>Shepard, I know you've been reading my files on the Shadow Broker's ship. I just want to make it clear that my relationship with Matriarch Trellani is strictly transactional and the benefits from our partnership have been incredibly lucrative. So what if I have to choke my heat sink between big blueberry tits every once in a while? It's a sacrifice for the sake of human advancement. Can your asari or your quarian get you tapped in to exclusive Thessian markets? Didn't think so. Don't you judge me, Shepard.

>Shepard. It seems I got indoctrinated somehow, but you are perfectly fine even though you've been quite literally having sex with everything that might have legs right on top of reaper tech.

I never realized how pathetic ME2 is when you actually use the sniper rifle. If something doesn't die, it gets stunned, and every scope shot has slowmo.

idk how I feel about game characters that are literally just digitized versions of actors in design. like you can call him the Illusive Man and talk about his intentions but that's just Martin Sheen.
>>732353074But what are Martin Sheen's true intentions for humanity?
>>732347228Just replaying 1, where do I find cerberus quests? Never really caught their activity in previous playthroughs

What's his ethnicity, I'm afraid the game didn't make it clear enough.
>>732353363The Admiral complaining about his missing men in the Council tower will eventually lead you to taking out a major Cerberus operation, and this side quest is directly referenced many times in ME2 by the ME1 cast that reappears. They tried to create their own Thorian husks (out of human test subjects) and tried to breed the Rachni back into existence as mass-produced combat troops.

Am I the only one who thinks the Reapers serve an important and worthwhile function? I once killed a lightbulb by turning it on and off in quick succession. I wouldn't trust me around advanced machines, and I was one kid with a light switch. Imagine the damage us organics would do to synthetics. It's cruel and heartbreaking. Imagine what tolls the synthetics would exact upon us for our foolish transgressions. They would obviously kill us all and we would deserve it. I'm grateful the Reapers are here to help us ascend into a new Reaper form and stop us from allowing the death of all organic species.Would anyone like to join me for dinner tonight? We can eat by this fun sculpture I found at a Goodwill.
>>732352450Built for tickle fights and winning a war to give a home

>>732344081Yeah hes like prototrump from the future. Like trump he uses masks humanity great again then uses Cerberus like ice abducting refugees and experimenting on them. Wannabe dictator prick.
>>732362365Lmfao get this Reddit scum off my website
>>732361819The Reapers could have been guides to help lead organic life to a better future and protect them from greater existential threats. Instead they're just A.I. stuck in a loop killing trillions to wipe the slate of all knowledge clean rather than let anyone really learn to be better.
>>732362580Because synthetics don't actually believe in hope, they aren't programmed to see the brighter day. It's a uniquely organic phenomena (IMO)
>>732362462>rich billionaire >creates a wannabe cult of followers Cerberus in trumps case maga>hates the democratically elected government >abuses refugees >uses dumb boomers nostalgia of the past to gain more power>huge ego and narcissistic refuses to admit hes wrong >takes advantage of people and throws them aside when they are no longer useful It’s crazy how similar they are even you have to admit.
What a fucking game series, as bad as ME3 was and the shitshow of an ending, I still remember the fucking amazement I felt every time Shepard talks to the illusive man in ME2 while this blastshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UBLOvSb56Vc
>>732363619They don't make em like this anymore.
>>732363619I miss scif fi
>>732352313>>gleans technology from the Reapers to use against the ReapersAnon, indoctrination was explicitly a thing in the first game. Whatever positive accomplishments The Illusive Man had were simply because he was less exposed and deteriorated slower than Saren
>>732364140>Illusive Man was just Saren again, someone being slowly indoctrinated by the Reapers that it is better to serve them forever than die while having their biomatter replaced with machinerylol i hate ME3
>>732363619I wish we got more rpgs set in original sci-fi settings.
>>732365425has there even been a new, exciting AAA rpg ip in the last decade? gaming seems really dead nowadays, the mass effect trilogy was released over a span of like 6 years. the same with any series we love, they were made very quick compared to games nowadays
>>732365885Exodus and Expanse coming out near the same time after such a long dry spell is interesting
>>732362349Sounds like someone got cucked by an actual tentacle monster
>>732366225both are chasing extremes imoExodus is way to fantastical, Andromeda territory with nothing tying it down, sort of boring looking polygonal schlockExpanse is way too paramilitary/non futuristic in it's projection of the futureNeither captures that pulpy Starship Troopers meets Blade Runner vibe of the OG Trilogy
>>732366225haven't heard of exodus, what is it? and the expanse isn't an original ip, even though it looks promising
>>732362852The Illusive Man is way too smart and competent for this analogy. Just stop.
>>732365885CRPG wise the weren't any new IPs, most were existing IPs or have been out for more than a decade, I think Pillars of Eternity was the last original setting which was 2015. RPG wise we haven't had any original settings, I don't count Cyberpunk as it wasn't an RPG nor an original setting. The industry has for the most part stagnated. I was talking to some of my friends about this, Bioware was capable of releasing banger after banger. We had KoTOR, Mass Effect, Dragon Age Origins and before that Baldur's Gate. Now we have inflated dev cycles where games are focused on being services instead of just selling a single-player roleplaying experience. I was hoping BG3 would lead to a genre revival but it seems devs are too retarded or maybe there's a time lag.
>>732366517it is kinda funny that three separate sci fi video game franchises and their studios all decided to make antivillain antagonists based off of the same guy
>>732366407Starship Troopers and Blade Runner are both completely "non-futuristic", the way you use that termMass Effect is basically Star Trek but with a Chosen One/Savior of the Universe protagonist
>>732367263>Starship Troopers and Blade Runner are both completely "non-futuristic", the way you use that termclearly you don't understand the way I used that term and your second point is retardedOnly thing Mass Effect and Star Trek have in common is the symbols of the human factions look kind of similar
>>732367083it's kinda sad. but at least i don't have to spend big money on a new computer since all new games suck. my ten year old rig is actually enough because i only play old games

>>732367263We need more TOS and TNG Star Trekish sci-fi.
>>732367626Yeah, trannies.
>>732344081literally just garden variety means justify the ends
>>732367389Blade Runner is basically just modern Earth but with the human-like robotsStarship Troopers is basically just modern Earth but with faster than light spaceships and bug aliens Star Trek is a proper future with technology that has transformed society into something very different from ours.Same with ME
>>732368524wrong on all counts.also tng has fuckin balsa wood paneling everywhere and every star trek is abhorrently modern in it's dialogue. The whole point of the show is everything is rhyming with whatever the geopolitics/ social issues are.
>>732368172obsessed
>>732366438Exodus is an upcoming RPG where the gimmick is that you're apparently expected to make important choices before dealing with the time dilation of space travel. The idea being that settlements and crewmates that you choose to leave behind end up changing over long time-skips while the protagonist has barely aged. Also there don't seem to be aliens in the traditional sense. More-so that humans and animals have spread across the galaxy and have been apart for so long that they've basically evolved into separate species.
