>>732349176That's not because they don't fuck with corn syrup, they do. They just do so in lower quantities because of economics. Corn mass production is subsidized in America and sugar imports have always been tariffed so the price ratio between HFCS and cane/beet sugar is distorted. You're still find "glucose-fructose syrup" in, say, European soft drinks and sweets (it's named like that because it's made from wheat in addition to corn), just less of it compared to sucrose.
