I know it's more of a reimagining than a remake but hooooly shit this game is so goodI think it's the best of all the remakes, including REmake
>>7323527124 remake is better. 2 remake’s flaws really start to show when you do the B scenarios
>>732352712I like it despite my irritations with it. It was the first good RE game since the remake
>>732352712the resident evil remakes except for 3 are literally the only good remakes coming out
>>732352869Resident evil 4 came out after 1 remake though
Why did John Biohazard hold his gun like this? Is he stupid?
>>732352781I think people wouldn't bring up the B scenario problem (And it is a problem) if they just didn't even botherIt's obvious that the intention was to just make a Leon and Claire story like the Chris and Jill story in 1, but then right at the end they tried to force it as the old A and B system
Its a shame that the sewer and lab sections suck dick and that they put barely any effort at all into the B scenarioOn the whole I'd say 4 is the best remake they've done so far
>>732352781I think the changes to the plot and voice acting are enough for me to not like 4 remake as much. 2 original's plot wasn't good enough to be precious aboutAlso Ashley is way more annoying as a gameplay aspect in the remake
>>732352712For me it's Annette Birkin
>>732352712It's the same game as the 1998 version but actually playable in a post 2010 society
>>732353212I think Luis having a longer lifespan and Ashley being an actual character are objective improvements. It would be a 10/10 if not for the Ada situation
>>732353374you didn't play both games
>>732352712Falls off hard after the police station
>Enemy exists solely to make you waste ammo
>>732353552So it’s very faithful to the original
>>732353387Ashley's characterization is fine, it's replacing the "wait, follow me" system with the vague AI bullshit of "be close and be not close"
>>732352712>>732352781All the RE-Engine slop suck ass, and should not even be spoken in the same sentence with the 2002 REmake 1.The more you play this modern trash, the more their flaws and casual pandering come across. The replay value is all gone, A/B have literally no differences whatsoever, Zapping is underutilized, the new writing is irredeemable garbage, OST was literally cut from the game, as was half of the enemy types + entire areas. The nu-Claire, Leon and Ada are annoying brats, while Ben and Kendo were done dirty. Briar was butchered the worst, as he drops his schizo spaghetti within seconds of waltzing onto the screen.>>732352886>the resident evil remakes except for 3Found the hypocrite shill.RE3 DEmake is literally nothing more than the exact same shit the RE2 DEmake was. It only lacked the same level aggressive shilling as 2, and merely doubled down on content cuts and butchering.>>732353374>It's the same game as the 1998 version but actually playableIt's not. It is nothing more than yet another DS x TEW x TLOU style over-shoulder slop, made for people who HATE Resident Evil.>>732353717They literally replaced Spiders the very last minute with this miniboss, because they couldn't model anything non-humanoid and "mass of flesh". Also "muh arachnophobia!!" fags kept complaining.
>>732354797Stopped reading the moment you said slop
>>732352712I don't give a shit what brown shitposters say, the remakes are all kinoExcept 3, that shit needs a reremake
>>732355783We should remake 3 remake and cut out bitchy Jill and just have the whole game starting Carlos
I played through the whole thing with nude mods
>>7323528863 is good on NG+
>>732352712Nah it fucking sucks and isn't true to the original.
The modern crapcum fanbase consists of nothing but mouthbreathing normalfags who have zero love for Capcom classics. So if anything, them and Capcom leadership belong in the same bed.
>>732354797>RE3 DEmake is literally nothing more than the exact same shit the RE2 DEmake was.yes. and thats why i didnt like it.
>>732352712It would probably be my favorite game of all time if they hadn’t botched the B Scenario so hard. I love the fact that zombies are an actual viable threat now. It’s even more tense if you install that mod where enemies don’t drop their aggro if you get outside a certain zone, and will just continue to follow you.
>>732353717You’re not supposed to fight them until you get the zapper/flamethrower. You’re wasting valuable resources if you engage them before that.
>>732354797Spiders were never good enemies in RE, because they’re just big awkward things that you can easily run past, and they were clearly phasing out the hokier enemies with the remakes in general. It’s a big reason why I’d be curious to see how they handle a RE0 remake, considering most of the non-zombie enemies in that game are just big bugs, and their modern design discards big bugs.
>>732352781I just played RE2R recently, but I had seen this said before and I don't really get where people are coming from. In the remake I only did LeonA/ClaireB, while in the original I did LeonA/ClaireB and ClaireA, but I was never bothered to LeonB in the original because I was already underwhelmed by how little Claire's A scenario differentiated itself from Leon's A scenario, which lead me to believe Leon's B scenario would just end up feeling like Claire's B scenario. In both games the two playthroughs don't really match up that well, and the only things that come to mind that really distinguish how the original did it was that you got different bosses on each playthrough and it has the zapping system. Even taking those two into account I feel like it's not a significant advantage for the original, seeing as the unique A route boss is just a G-creature, which I think the remake wisely just made a regular enemy instead, and you don't even see the Tyrant at all during the A route. In that respect it just ends up feeling like they made the A route boring to highlight the B route, whereas in the remake they allow them both to be interesting even if it means less variance. I also think the zapping system was underdeveloped and arbitrary so I didn't miss it too much.I think on the whole the games are around the same quality so I'm not just trying to elevate the remake, but with both games the whole A/B scenario thing felt like a good idea that wasn't fully fleshed out. It is better to have it as it is than it is to just have a single scenario with two different characters, as it does add a fresh feeling to the second playthrough, but I think a lot of the faults of the idea holdover into the remake. Maybe I'm underestimating how different LeonB is in the original, but I'd be surprised.
>>732352712Hard to say between this and REmake but it was a great game.
Truth nuke:2 Remake is the best RE game... But ONLY when played with the fixed camera mod
>>732357476As enemies I don't think spiders are great, though they are kind of charming, but I still would have liked to see them come back. Going down into the sewers and hearing the spider's heavy footsteps and then turning the corner to see it was one of the more memorable parts of RE2 for me. I think they could have fit in fine, maybe they'd need a redesign so they weren't just a big spider and nothing more, but I really don't think it would be any sillier than the big alligator, which they kept.

>>732352712I played it for 2h and didn't like it at all.It feels like a point and click puzzle game
>>732357228And it’s just a coincidence the corridor is designed to make it impossible to get around them without at least losing a sub weapon
>>732360832she is 12...
>>732361132I’ve played the game several times, and never found a situation where I couldn’t avoid them, or in the situation where I do get snatched, not have a defensive item to buy enough time to slip past them. Especially the one in that image.
>>732361442Out of FIVE
>>732353120Damage buff.
>>732352712REmake, REmake 2 and 4 REmake, my beloveds....
>>732358012The alligator was one of the more iconic set pieces of the original, they would have gotten flak if they hadn’t at least acknowledged it. Until I guess today, I have never seen anyone say “I miss the spiders.” Especially in the RE2 remake, where Lickers kind of already fill the “enemies that crawl along the walls and ceiling” niche. I don’t doubt that I wasn’t at least discussed at some point, but they couldn’t figure out a good way to get it to work for any number of reasons.
>>732353120Because he did in the original.
>>732361717I wouldn't say I miss them necessarily, I just would have welcomed their return. I would rather have them over the alligator, all things considered, as I don't think there was much interesting about the alligator beyond the detail of its death in the original and it's worse, if anything, in the remake. I understand that's an apples-to-oranges comparison and it's not as though they were weighing up whether to bring back the spiders or the alligator, but still. I would also say the G-creature is more of the spider replacement than Lickers, being an enemy that can poison you that you first encounter in the sewers, but I think the G-creatures are a better enemy than the spiders anyway, for what it's worth.
>>732361619She's so fucking cute
