Now that the dust has settled, what do we think of HL? Is it a worthy successor to Danganronpa?
>>732353114To Danganronpa, yes.To the Nonary games, no.Getting endings that left more questions was exciting in 999 and VLR.In Hundred Line, it is just exhausting since there is just endless bullshit until you get near the end of another route.I'm got to 20 endings, fully completing Slasher / Romance, and felt a ton of fatigue when starting up from day 20 or something along those lines. Far too much slog.
anime announcement when?
>>732353114I just want her DLC nigga.
>>732353114I haven't played it yet but it's on my list. This first or Shuten Order? Or maybe Rain Code?
>>732354038Play it in release order, so RC > HL > SO.
>>732353114My emo wife!Srs though dangan and hl are different sub-genres While 2nd scenario was kino and some of its routes were good additions HL1/route 0 >>>>> HL2.If they do make dlc/HL3 i really hope they actually make more interesting fights. Hl1 was great because almost every character had a purpose and the stakes felt ominous.
Not really. The problem is that the characters all have the depth of Danganronpa characters, who are meant to die after three hours of screen time, but the plot is this gigantic war epic of 120 hours.
>>732354578HL1 is a good start.HL2 is a mess of no cohesion between 6+ writers. Especially when one of the worst routes (comedy) is behind the paths people would naturally takeThat and its character development is all over the place. Some become nuanced and get a ton of backstory, some get involved a ton to the point it feels forced and are basically deus ex machina.Others never change at all or become even more irrelevant. Some are killed early up to 70% of the entire two games
