I don't want a reimagined version of this, where they ruin the artstyle. Just drop random encounters and add battle speed. Leave the rest.

>Just drop random encounters
But anon, you'd still need to grind, why would you want it go to quicker?

Just don't like random encounters unless I can turn it off. Battle speed is for the grinding.

The game was designed around random encounters. Getting rid of them was one of the many reasons why the 3DS was more casualized than it had any reason to be.

What they did for the VIIR art style has no significance with VIII, so don't worry. You'll get UE 5 visuals instead.

Absolutely agree. The cel-shaded Akira Toriyama art is timeless. Remake should be 1:1 visually, just scaled up for modern resolution. Touch up textures sure, but don’t touch the style. Just streamline the QoL stuff-fast battles, visible enemies, maybe quick save-and leave the rest untouched. DQ8 is peak.

DQ8 doesn't need a remake. Just upscale the PS2 version and include the 3DS content and call it a day.

Pretty much what I want

Doesn't look as nice and it's on the 3DS.
