is using a controller better for ARPG?

Depends. Something like Dungeon Siege works better with mouse. I guess it comes down to how much microing is in the game. If there isn't a lot it probably works better with a controller but a game with minimal microing is probably dogshit boring in this genre.

Controllers do not work for 3D games but they are still much better for melee games than for shooters.
Shooters do not work with controlers.

There must be some kind of toxin in modern keyboards and/or mice that makes PC vegans say stupid shit like this.

He's probably just from asia. I'm not joking something about them makes 3d spacial awareness in games an issue.
Look up vertigo and motion sickness rates in asia when gaming. You are about to become a race realist from this info I'm giving you fair warning.
