Why did Falcom forget about my wife
>>732369816They're saving her for Kai 2. Also in Kondo's latest interview he talks about how all the young people in the staff are insisting they immediately remake 3rd and add a bunch of stuff. Seems to (rightfully) be regarded as the best game in the series.
>>732369816kevin san....
>>732370237I really do wonder why the series really dropped in quality after 3rd/CrossbellI'm not blaming the 3d shift, but also....
Sky sucks because it doesn't have our guy haha...
>>732369816Why do you want her to be in shit gf games?
>>732370237I'd be scared by additions if they're anything more than SoL side stories like the Kloe one or minigames. Trying to cram more actual story stuff in would just make it worse.
>>732370592Because they started copying harem light novels. You could already see the influence in Crossbell with the romance options and then they decided to go all in. Cold Steel being the most mecha heavy of the arcs is the only thing that saved it for me.
>>732370950This. Part of what I like about Sky 3rd is about how gameplay heavy it is outside of movie time when you get to a door. I see nu-fans groan at how much of a dungeon crawler Sky 3rd is and I just shake my head.
>>732370592They started blatantly trend chasing with Crossbell but it really went into full force with Cold Steel. The longer the series went on the less the world made any sense because they would just cram whatever random shit was popular in anime at the time into it.
>>732371161I agree with the sentiment and yet somehow I absolutely hate Reverie.
>>7323702371-2 are still better games than 3rd, 3rd only succeeds because of all the work 1-2 did in setting up the world and the characters. >>732370592Because most of the staff that wrote the Sky games left the company after the first Crossbell game. This is why all the world building fell apart, we go from Sky where Liberl having sky ships was a HUGE tech advantage and the only thing keeping them from being invaded and conquered by Erebonia, with a late 1800s era technological development outside of that, to flat out cell phones, world wide internet, and basically all the amenities and advancement of modern day Japan by Cold Steel. They didn't even bother trying to keep the verisimilitude of the world set up in Sky coherent, they just copy pasted stuff from their own day to day existence and put it in the games, because like most writers nowadays, that's the extent to which their imaginations, if they can be called that, function, being unable to do anything but reference their own day to day lived experience when crafting a world. Pathetic stuff.
>>732371161My problem with 3rd is that the gameplay is bad, the weakest part of these games, and the dungeons are super boring so it feels like I have to endure a lot of crap before I get to the parts that actually interest me.
>>732371517it was crossbell when they started just lazily taking real world things and slapping the word "orbal" in front of it all the timeorbments went from being inspired by old clocks to being cell phones, you had modern looking cars instead of these weird steampunk-y machines, skyscrapers, the internet, it lost all the charm and just became boring and cringethen you get to cold steel and you start going to a clearly japanese inspired high school despite supposedly being in a prussian inspired country and i just lost all interest
