Yes, but so is every FPS. It's just more annoying in Tarkov so that's why it feels like every raid has one, it's really easy to tell them apart from skilled players.

Game is very much still playable, I think the cheater problem is way overblown. I guess there's also PvE mode now if you don't want to deal with people at all, but that's the pussy way of playing Tarkov in my opinion.

I won't pretend Expedition 33 is the best game of my life, a life-changer experience or whatever, because at least to me, it's not, I'm also not gonna say if it deserved GOTY or not because I don't really care about that stuff, but I think it's a good game and I'm enjoying it, I quite like the "interactive turn based combat" I don't know how else to describe that.
As for the tower minigame, that's just an optional minigame you can complete if you want, it's tied to a trophy, but it's not really necessary if you just wanna do the story.

It's incredible, the meh ending doesn't ruin it at all. All major plotlines are dealt with and your choices directly affect them, it's unthinkable to have a triology of this scale these days. I agree the starchild is silly and product of a rushed dev cycle, another year to flesh things out would've solved it. The gameplay is great too, one of the best TPSs out there.

Okay, had this week off work due to burnout. Wasted a lot of it getting back up on my feet but there are 3 more days to work on my boardgame until work starts again, it'd be nice to start working it on at least an hour a day, I'm so close to a playtest iteration but I'm a moron that got stuck in project management hell because I didn't respect on core rule about not developing the esthetics before the core mechanics.
I don't know how everyone sees these things but to me, the theme of a game/boardgame is very important, it delivers the point of the game, it sets up expectations and assigns roles, so it felt like I needed to make at least some visual design to do it properly, but if I have to make a rule change or add a mechanic to an already existing system then I have to change all existing cards, maps, etc to fit the new system and even with templates it's a lot of work. So I started using placeholders for everything.
On another note, the weather has taken a turn for the better so I'll probably take my motorcycle out for a ride soon.

The place I live in a small college city that's more suburbs than town. Publishing is a problem for future me, not something to think over when I don't even have the product ready, once I have it ready and it has been playtested thoroughly, art design matches what I need and so on... then I can wonder how to publish it.
But theoretically speaking, we don't need to publish anything, we could just as well market it via the plethora of social media apps (with money ofc) and sell it off our own hosted websites. Publishers are surefire way to be seen but they have to sift through so many other games that the chance to be selected by one of them is pretty low. What do you think?

I might've misunderstood the question, if by "publishing" you mean marketing but also manufacturing and distribution then there are methods of doing so on your own without needing an actual publisher if you have the money.
One thing is for sure, if we call to a publisher then the royalties we're going to get from our own creation is somewhere between 5% to 15% depending on the contract type, some offer contracts based on retail sales (most common) at which point we'll receive a much lower percentage because everyone else is risking capital, not us.
If we want to publish ourselves then we need the capital to risk ourselves at every level, publishing products is not for the faint of heart and will usually result in losing money, to me that's fine, I just want to make and publish great games even if it's at the cost of my own financial gain, if you're doing it for financial gain then you'll have to publish it via an actual publisher or make it self-published with the help of community funds (but that's a popularity contest).

Alright. spoiler'd for old-man rambling about the weather and related issues. REALLY need this snow dumped on us from the storm a couple weeks to fuck off already. The constantly well-below freezing temperatures have barely put a dent in the snow and the only thing sunlight has done has melted juuuust enough surface snow to give it all a three-inch thick shell of ice. It's so bad that the public schools in my county only JUST started opening up on time again yesterday. My neighbor told me that her kids' school also didn't count absences during 2-hour delay days due to how bad walkways and residential roads still are.

I meant it in the sense of both marketing and of being picked up by a boardgame publisher. My game is about a somewhat niche subject and the board has a mechanical function (which involves nothing besides cardboard and a thin acrylic sheet and has already been built/designed by me) and I'm wondering if the publisher will respect my designs for the board, plastic pieces and the box or if I'll have to butt heads with them. Mass Effect 3 (non-legendary). Playing on insanity and only using guns/grenades. Fuck biotics and fuck tech. In this house we SHOOT reapers. Decided to start from level 1 as well. If you start with an imported save you get money and levels right off the bat but I wanted to suffer. Initially was doing an adept playthrough but realized just how ridiculously OP the singularity into push/warp combo is. Now, I shoot.

I'm playing the steam version. It's alright. The shooting is functional, the plot is cheesier than Wisconsin and there's no music for most of the game outside of the cutscenes, menus and when you use spells. It's not as bad as people make it out to be, but it isn't the type of game you go out of your way to get.

I do like how every building/object has actual physics attached to it so you can make spells that blow up entire helicopters full of enemies or buildings if you so choose. It's really forward thinking for an Xbox 360 game that came out in 2006.

All in all, it's an okay AA Japanese game. It won't blow your mind or anything, but it's good dumb fun.

Yeah. You never really worry about having friends until you realize that they've all gone their separate ways and the people you meet aren't anywhere near as similar, amicable or trustworthy as they were. These past 2 weeks I've embraced the hiki-Neet life after spending my 20s grinding away to escape the poverty I grew up in only to find myself at 31 staring down the barrel (figuratively and literally) of now running gout of money after 1 year of unemployment. Enough to last me until the end of the year and I don't see a job hiring any time soon or layoffs to stop.
