Old dungeon puzzles had their charm
>>
>>732608072
JRPGs are so afraid of dungeon crawls now it makes me sad. zoomers and casuals out here have ruined the fun and tension of a long dungeon filled with random encounters because they don't actually like the genre of game they were playing.

These mazes are very easy, it just requires some memory and an understanding of how the maze is set up. The biggest trick is just not having an overview of the whole maze at once. It's good for 5yo kids who need to work on remembering things and working things out logically, but trivially easy to anybody who can just take the time to think about what route they can take and the possible options. Turns out, there's really only one route you CAN take so it's just following the correct option.

I realize that, but to me, green seems better for when clod is actively making progress and not being jammed up by something significant, like a known run killer like Hideout, for about a solid day. I'm open to switching back as soon as he bumbles his way through B2F, of course.

I'm still fairly optimistic about his chances of clearing it. Don't get me wrong, we're a LONG ways off from RED status, but I think green left the building a while ago.
>>
>>732614050
He's stuck trying to figure out the spin walls but it does look like he'll solve this sooner rather than later. This is a solid yellow.

Yeah that's what I was thinking.

They way he's going, I wouldn't be surprised if VII leaves Hideout and immediately zeroes in on Erika's bush. (based) Kinda curious to see how her gym will go, though. I'm sure he'll clear it but it'll probably be fun to watch.

Previous Claude, Claude 6, spent month in Poke Mansion and finally got out. He beat Blaine and Giovanni and got Gold Teeth from Safari. He acquired Strength and taught it to Nessie. Then he made to Victory Road and was stuck at the first boulder puzzle for 2 weeks.

The new Claude Opus version released few days ago and the run was reset. Current Claude is Claude 7.

I'm fairly new to this. How come Claude is having trouble with this when his previous version got past it. Does he not have access to the info learned from that run?

As far as having access to info from past runs, I'm not an expert on the subject at all, but I can tell you that he's referenced his old team members before by name. Earlier in the run he mentioned his Fartetch'd DUX when thinking about which mon to get for CUT, for example.

I think I cracked this case. I know why Claude is having so much trouble with this part. I was unconvinced at first, but the more I started to look into it, the more sense it made. I present to you: the navigator tile swap theory.
>>
File: file.png (324 KB, 1002x790)
324 KB
324 KB PNG
First, here's a map of the B2F floor. If you didn't know, maps in gen 1 are made of 2x2 tiles (that's why you'd often see furniture and walls arranged in strange patterns). Of relevance to us are tiles 15 (circled red) and 32 (blue). I also marked some row and column coordinates, when Claude talks about tile coordinates it's column them row.

Claude's navigator separates tiles into three colours: white, passable, red, impassable, and cyan, which is used for both passable but unreachable tiles and special tiles like arrows and warps.

If you've been watching for any amount of time, you'll notice that Claude completely ignores two arrow tiles on the southern tile 15. Why?
>>
File: file.png (898 KB, 1340x754)
898 KB
898 KB PNG
Take a look at this. Here he is standing in front of the entry tiles. He knows they're spin tiles because he stepped on them previously, but he says they are RED. All other arrows are cyan. And this is the same tile 15 that he can't navigate to.

But how come he's able to enter the maze in the first place? Well, he doesn't completely trust his navigation data - he tries random walls when he's out of options. There are also no other distractions in this area, which makes it more likely he'd see the arrow tiles. Once he uses an arrow, he adds it to his notes and can use it again.
>>
File: file.png (980 KB, 1340x754)
980 KB
980 KB PNG
So what's distracting him in the southern part? The wall. This wall he's staring at. He tries that wall all the time when he reaches that section, ever wondered why? You can see here he says it's cyan.
>>
File: file.png (1011 KB, 1340x754)
1011 KB
1011 KB PNG
Here's him saying another wall block here is cyan. This one is less consistent, because sometimes he says these walls are red. But calling them cyan is very common, and way more common than any other wall. I believe this is too consistent to be a hallucination.
>>
File: file.png (973 KB, 1340x754)
973 KB
973 KB PNG
Here he says that all three of these wall tiles are cyan, even though row 19 is a different tile. What I think is most likely here is that walls on tile 32 are marked as cyan, but Claude has occasional hallucinations on top of that where he mistakes wall colours. This might be due to walls themselves being green.
>>
File: file.png (958 KB, 1340x754)
958 KB
958 KB PNG
I have more proof that tile 32 is cyan, because here's him saying walls are cyan in a completely different place that uses the same tile.
>>
>>732630306
>>732630273
>>732630238
>>732630203
>>732630368
So basically Clod is a retard because he is blind.
Cant they just make him actually see what we see and properly differentiate the tiles?
>>
File: file.png (918 KB, 1340x754)
918 KB
918 KB PNG
He, again, extends that into another tile, so I can't be 100% certain. There's definitely some hallucinations mixed in. And you could argue that nothing's wrong with tile 32 and he just hallucinates cyan, but I think that it happens too often on that specific tile for it to be a simple coincidence.

Now let's think back to tile 15. Tile 15 and tile 32 have a very similar configuration: two empty spots on the left, two identical objects on the right. Tile 15 should be cyan, but it's red, and it looks like tile 32 should be red, but is cyan. Thus, my theory is: those tiles were accidentally swapped in the navigator. Because of that, when he reaches the final section of B2F, the actual path is marked red, and the wall is marked cyan. That makes him very likely to spend some time trying the wall, and then give up and try another place before he can try the arrows. 4.5 struggled with the same spot, and both runs use the same harness, so it's pretty likely that the bug was carried over.

4.5 eventually figured it out, so I think 4.6 can figure it out too, but it might take a while. He has been checking random walls, so he might eventually try the arrows.
>>
>>732630386
What schizo-anon is suggesting isn't that Claude is blind, but that his augmented eyes are lying to him in two specific locations. We have had many Claudes that see what we see, and they all die like idiots much earlier on. The cheating is necessary for any of this progress to happen in the first place.
>>
