Cyberpunk, even to this day, is basically exactly like Skyrim, but with less modding framework; If you're easily amused or only have like, 10 minutes of free time to play per day, then it will feel like an endless sea of content for you to swim in where you can just do 1000 different missions and side activities and walk around this big open place and see stuff happen. Flashy lights, colors, it's a retard's dream. But if you play it for like, more than 10 minutes at a time, you pretty easily realize that the entire game is literally only one thing, and that one thing is "Super solider shoots everyone". Because the game literally has zero mechanics that are not "shooting or stabbing enemy". It has no secondary skills, it has no uses for your stats, it has nothing to discover, it has literally nothing in the entire game that is not directly related to shooting or stabbing people. And the worst part is, it wouldn't even be THAT bad if the game actually gave you anyone worth shooting or stabbing. But it doesn't because 99% of the people you will fight in the whole game are just generic gang mooks who die in one hit. The only enemies that actually exist to offer some sort of mechanical challenge, are the MaxTac super-police, and they only exist to show up after you've gone on a police-killing rampage (which accomplishes nothing) to insta-kill you, so even if you DO outplay them and beat them, you get nothing for it. So ironically the game actually functions best when you just pretend it isn't open-world at all and just focus solely on the main plot and be done with it.
