Perhaps someone can explain this game to me because i think it is overated as fuckI have 20 hours in it as of now, have beat it a couple of times and feel i have seen all there is to it.There is nothing challenging about it once you learn the basic systems.Every weapon is mechanically the same. The core gameplay for every classic is pretty much the sameI've tried playing the jester supposedly the hardest class but the core gameplay is the same and the game becomes trivial once you get past the swamp anyways.Why is it ao praised everywhere? The reviews on steam are good and people suck it off here to.Runs have no variance to them lol.

maybe you'd be correct about no variance before the magic/class reworks, but since then there's a decent amount of variance even between the base classes.different monsters have different resistances to weapon types.if your claim that there's no variance is because you attack enemies until theyre dead, then i dont know what to tell you about 95% of vidya.

I played with a friend and only managed to beat it oncemid game we were already beasts but last boss pushed our shits inI was playing as an engineer or whatever class that uses turretsHe died and I kited the final boss
Really fricken love this game bros. Only got it a few weeks ago but at 70 hours already. I have over 1k hours in both deep rock galactic and vermintide 2 and this is looking like my next 1k hour game

Playing melee with a shield vs playing melee without a shield is an entirely different game, and now the 3 magic schools means any spell caster class plays completely different depending on the school. Finding a tinkering kit early can completely change the run too, try doing a tinker run where you're playing with teleporter traps and sentries for a hugely different run. You can make your gyrocopter place a teleporter trap on a location you can't reach, get your gyrocopter to set it as the teleporter exit, then throw a second teleporter trap down and step on it to teleport to the inaccessible area. Or fill a room with sentries and put the teleporter exit in the middle abd then teleporter enemies into the kill room during battle. Just some examples of run variance off the top of my head.
>>732680431Blocking is kind of an illusion in this game. When you hold up your shield, all that happens is your armour value goes up. There's no game mechanic where you like block an attack and it gets nullified or something, all that happens is hour AC value is higher while holding the block button. That means mid-late game if you can just stack a huge amount of AC with Divine Fortress(thaumaturgy spell) or something you'll take so little damage from physical attacks that blocking isn't even necessarily, and that's assuming you're face tanking everything. You can also play a melee class by being fast and just not getting hit. Your melee range is longer than the AIs so you can keep hitting them without being hit back if you keep your distance perfectly, and the AI is EXTREMELY forgiving around corners, the monsters will generously fully clear the corner at a right angle before they attack, so you can get like 4-5 free hits as a monster turns a corner. Get good at this and you can win melee fights without getting hit
