Here you're limited by RNG spanning months to years unless you use the credit card cheat code, unless the game is considered "fair" then you don't have to continually scale power.The main counter argument of that is that it's free, but the time investment is anything but that, and with how many gacha I've played that consistently massively dip in both gameplay and story quality, even free doesn't justify the price. As a retired hardcore gachafag, I noticed most of these games are gay coded in the sense that even if you're given the choice of playing as the Male MC, the devs and fandom will treat the female versions of the MC as the real canon protagonist in their stories. And this applies to:>Genshin>WuWa>Star rail>ZZZ>Arknights EndfieldAnd sometimes, they can be gender-neutral. It doesn't help that 90% of gacha rosters are females by a large margin, opening ways for yuritards to chime in and make divisions in the community. Though, the real challenge for me not playing their games is the way they handle the storylines. If the MC were removed, it won't affect the story in the slightest (the only exception to this is azur lane at the height of its golden age). And that grinds me. Koreans might be a bit better in this regard since their gacha games have sovl. Especially Nikke, you will be hard-pressed to find better stories with legitimately kino OST by prolific composers and gorgeous character designs than shift-up's Nikke. That being said, the gacha scene over there is kinda bleeding dry, straight up as the years went by.

Either /v/'s take on gachas is frozen in time or I'm an outlier, because the "gambling slot machine" aspect of gachas wore off on me in about 2 months.
