I am not a Musou guy. I've only played pic related, and it's sequels. I thought that they were pretty fun. In the grand scheme of things in terms of the Musou games, where do the Hyrule Warriors game fit in? Are they considered among the better Musou games?And are there any other Musou crossover games that are actually good? Been reading Berserk so I have been thinking about picking up Band of the Hawk.

It's probably the peak of the Musou series. Very fast paced, good music, good characters, tons of content.Older Dynasty Warriors/Samurai Warrior games are much slower and filled with a bunch of same face ching ching bing bongs, but they're fun if you want to fight in Japan or China. Or the cross battle Orochi Warriors which takes both series into a more fantasy world. There's other stuff like Fist of the North Star, Gundam, One Piece, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, etc, but they all have variations of gameplay rules.

the cool thing about the spin off musou games is how hard KT tries to capture the spirit of the original games/series. the dragon quest one is literally just a dragon quest game with musou combat instead of turn based.
Pirate Warriors 3 and DW8XL are better games. In the case of DW and SW, if you know the history behind the roster, it's much better and a lot more fun when you see some of their portrayals. Hyrule Warriors is bogged down by padding, tedious bosses and a sort-of-okay roster, there was still room for a lot more. The BotK musous were weak and a step down from the fanservice of the original game.

>>732738240Hyrule Warriors DE and Fire Emblem Warriors (first one, haven't played the other one), are really good.Fire Emblem Warriors suffers from clone syndrome and almost every character is a clone of another or several others, sharing the same movesets, but at least having their own different animations, which isn't has bad as it sounds for me since I usually like one character but not another, and can still play the same class (like Chrom vs Lucina). Not to mention DLC...But the best part about FEW is the CPU. You can send the CPU to do something across the map and they will actually fucking do it. Taking a fort? Killing an enemy? They can do it if you're not close to them (since they just revert to retards the moment you have them on screen).If you like FE and Musou games it's a really fun game with some great gameplay changes compared to Hyrule Warriors. Absolutely recommend it if you're a fan of FE Awakening/Fates/Shadow Dragon, even with its flaws.

The villains weren't even going to be playable until late in the game's development, which also explains why Zant was so horrible at launch. Even when they added more games and characters, it was still weak. Marin? Agitha? Medli??? No Groose? No Saria? No Ashei? No Gerudo mobs to kill at the desert, no AlttP representation like you said, the list goes on.
I love it, packed with content, but it needs a sequel.

the fire emblem ones feel cheap. hyrule warriors 1 sucks because the content is bloat and meaningless. combat is trash and you do a lot of waiting around till the enemy bosses stop being retarded. hyrule warriors 3 is the best one by far. much more polished and meaningful content. dynasty warriors origins is by far one of the best musous out there however. everything else can be ignored though pirate warriors 4 seems good as well.
