I'm playing Fallout 3 for the first time in more than a decade since the good old days on the PS3. The game's at its most enjoyable when you treat it as a scavenger simulator and you just explore the Wasteland, clear dungeons, recruit companions and go back to Megaton every now and then to store shit in your crib, bankrupt Moira with loot and give the water processing plant dude your fifty tons of Scrap Metal. Narratively it's an utter mess, I'd argue even worse than people say because more often than not they focus solely on the main quest but dear god it feels like every single sidequest and terminal entry is also written just a cartoonishly simple as Three Dog or the Enclave.
