Now that the series has basically established itself, and has real history to it (3 fucking games) it got me thinking about the series as a whole.Obviously he’s barely a character and character creator is a definite upgrade, but I don’t think the series is where it is without William. Even despite being temu-geralt he had a certain meme aura about him (probably due to the obvious fact that he’s basically the first weeaboo). It’s kind of like how nobody gives a real shit about Jack’s game but it still has a minor legacy because everyone respects Jack’s strength, but on a greater scale. Also, nioh 2 was famously regarded as “1.5” and this could have landed even worse among non-nioh player plebs if character creation wasn’t a new feature.

i feel that nioh 3 is a game you will either love or hate. it does a lot of unnecessary changes by splitting so much stuff up between samurai or ninja. its a very bad implementation overall, if you loved playing samurai with a certain weapon then you may have got screwed because they are arbitrarily a ninja weapon now. ninja is fun to play but its very different from the samurai playstyle that nioh fans already know and love.i think the "core" experience of the game is very good but if you have a lot of experience in previous nioh games I can see people having legitimate complaints about the game.
