Right now I've got my house sectioned off into 4 zones; bottom floor is a general pool for weak cats and strays: I keep this room as low comfort as possible + the cat fight icon to ensure the maximum amount of fights; I've found that the injured cat/furniture store upgrades are the most important because they allow you to buy better furniture. Then I've got my attic which contain all my best cats; this room has just enough comfort to prevent fights, and the most stimulation & all my mutation & health furniture. Then my 2 other rooms are dedicated breeding zones: right now I'm trying to pass off albino, primordial dwarf, and savant, so I keep all these cats in the same room so they hopefully bang and pass on their genes. And the last room a dumping ground for my appeal furniture: don't neglect this because you also need high quality strays so you can add them to the gene pool to dilute the inbreeding.Unfortunately this also sums up my biggest complaint with this game: the grind to unlock everything is unreasonable and most people will probably quit well before getting there. The veteran unlock is particularly egregious: that motherfucker wants hundreds of vet cats, which means the best way is to continuously run sewers easy path and leave right after the boss. In order to level that shit up, you're forced to grind the exact same content over and over, and if you fail a run that's time/cats you can't get back

I've managed to do 3 cat win with hard paths. The charm quest item definitely helped, but overall it was still easy. Necro mostly tanked and resurrected enemies, Fighter had that Confront ability, you just move in front of any enemy at any range and byt the end easy 70+ dmg with crits.
