It's all coming together lads. I just beat Boneyard and Caves back to back with flawless runs and one the one downed cat from Dyubbuk or whatver the fuck. Got them home in perfect health and now I'm getting kittens with green and white stats. I'm going to wait for Guillotina to show up before trying act 2. It finally clicked. I had one run with a tank who spawned with 4 rocks, made rocks into friendly units, and could eat rocks to buff himself. That with the dash ability that left a rock behind made him absolutely busted.

Realistically though, just stop letting your cats take damage at all. You can see enemy ranges and the turn order at all times. Stun/slow/kill enemies that are spooky and kite better.Speed is the best stat in the game because it lets you spend more turns fighting and less turns moving into position. Plus it increases your initiative in the turn order.

I hit 22 Appearance and have checked out about 10 strays so far and they have been vanilla as fuck. No passives, one guy had a mutation, stat spreads were all kinda meh. I haven't stepped foot into Act2 yet, does clearing levels advance your breeding and your strays? I've done 3 of the Act 1 quests, maybe it's time.

They literally get back up on their own if you win. It doesn't help that cats "actually" die at home and leave a corpse for you to throw away. Meanwhile if they die on an adventure they just straight up disappear. Being downed is an in-between state and seems like the least dead option of the three.
