For pve solo pushing lanes > sinner's sacrifice > jungle > boxes (though you should always be breaking those because it takes no time at all, it's free souls). Split pushing lanes splits up soul gain which is why it can feel slow early on since everyone is 2v2 at the start. If it's mid-game and all the guardians on the map are dead, just find a neglected lane and push it by yourself for a wave or two and hit a neutral camp + hit boxes etc once the wave is dead. Run around the map a bit to try memorizing where stuff like neutral camps and boxes are. Ideally you can push the lane up to enemy territory without being noticed, then snag enemy jungle etc then work backwards back to your territory and get jungle etc there. That way you deny the enemy farm on top of your own soul gain. That being said, kills are obviously pretty important and in higher skill lobbies they matter probably more than anything else (mainly because EVERYONE is farming efficiently at a baseline). Don't expect to have a lot of souls if you're never contributing to killing enemy players no matter how much you farm.Also the matchmaking is still dogwater, don't trust the game to put you into fair games. Just do your best and try to learn a little more every game.
