My latest run: easy first map, bomber rat wipes 3 of my cats with random bomb triggering other bombs withou even giving me chance to react, go into sewers cus i have healer, every fight my healer gets oneshoted at first turn without chance to react, 2 injured cats gets posioned every fight, somehow my only fit cat can go thru all of this. And it all ended at half way boss, didnt have a chance with one healthy cat and 3 cats with 1-4hp each. Till that bomber fight everyone was fit, had good stats but it was downhill from that moment.

>>733144712As a hardcore SRPG fan that also like this game, I'd like to add that another reason it may lack appeal is that it doesn't have the long-term satisfaction of building the perfect team to overcome a specific challenge. For example, it has to make the heat in the desert such a non-issue because there is too much randomness to be able to build a team to maintain wetness 24/7 reliably. Even though the game has the mechanics, abilities and items to create such a team it has to pussy out and allow healing. Likewise the satisfaction of winning is lessened when you can just randomly win by being given a broken combo. Fundamentally the game is all about short-term planning and reactive strategies, and thus only ever grant appropriately sized satisfaction or the joy of novelty.

Had good run with my new Tinkerer and Druid going to clear Caves mark for them but the Tinkerer got rabies and at the start of the route's final spider boss he went mad and killed my units. Nice wipe but at least I got one +1 comfort furniture for it
