I don't really like the new sprites.
The environments look gorgeous, but the new spites just look off with all of that shading and the lack of thick outlines.
It's just a much different style which isn't better than the already very nice looking art of the original games.

But I am also super excited to see a new Dangronpa game. And 2 has a great cast to return to.
Especially since I didn't like what they had going on with V3's cast, thought they were very weak. I'd rather than SDR2's again. Even if I think 1 had a better cast

Yeah, for me the problem with SDR2 is that the ending basically ruins everything. But the cast is by far the best. And the part before the ending is fantastic. So an alternate route could resolve the problems of the original and give some agency over what to do, and to some extent erase the anime from canon.
