After watching 20-30 isekai anime in a row, I was really looking for a game with those classic cliches that they keep using in the shows... but man most just don't cut it. Turn-based stuff is boring, Ys is just too linear with no customization, mana stuff is interesting but again kinda linear. I was about to give up.But then I found this gem.Oh my god, I love this game.This is exactly like a late 80s jrpg where there are no "talking quests" or "scripted quests" just pure exploration and leveling. Isekai has to be the most boring, uninspired genre to ever infest the animation industry. In theory, it's a fun idea. A guy gets to go to another world and has to experience the shock of learning about their own history, seeing their culture and civilization, and makes their mark on the world. Isekai was serious and dark and gritty, and full of peril. Even in the lighter more friendly and comedic shows. Characters had to struggle, and adapt in order to suvive in their new reality. Meanwhile most modern isekai characters are OP as fuck, one shot their villains, are blessed by the gods with powers and a harem and they barely have to struggle at all.
