There really needs to be a few alternatives the the Boots of Blinding Speed.
I'd be happy with only 50 extra points of speed if it means I can wear literally any other pair of boots. Fuck, I'll take something that drains my magicka and applies sun damage.
>>
>>733493998
isn't there a random even for one outside old ebonheart? I think it damaged you instead.
>>
>>733493998
I'm on my first playthrough and I chose a breton mage and the game was basically unplayable until I hunted down those boots. NOW it's insanely fun because the speed + low health makes this feel like I'm playing wizard DOOM.

Otherwise I'd just be standing there like a jackass taking the hits and hitting back, that's boring.
>>

>>
>>733493998
there is the boots of lightning speed, its south of old ebonheart, around Vhul i think.
>>
how good is "weakness to xyz"in Morrowind spell?
cost wise it is better to make damage over time spells in destruction, if I make a spell that has
>apply weakness to fire for 1 second
>100 fire damage over 5 seconds
will the all the 5 seconds benefit from increased damage or just the first tick of the spell?
>>
>>733491557
I look like this and do this.
>>
>>733494970
the weakness effect wont apply to damage from that same spell
you need to apply a weakness effect, and them separately apply a damage effect

Bravo, Todd!
>>
>>733494970
Weakness to magicka is interesting if you apply it repeatedly because each application makes them weaker to it so it keeps getting stronger. It works better if you use different spells since you can only have one effect from each spell. Then you could use a weakness to fire or something and it will be bigly amplified, or just use a magick effect. Not usually necessary in morrowind because there is easier more broken shit but it can be fun if you need to kill something fat.
>will the all the 5 seconds benefit from increased damage or just the first tick of the spell?
Weakness will apply to the whole 5 seconds, but like anon said I think the weakness effect needs to already be there from another spell. So you would start with weakness for 1 or 2 seconds (not sure 1 is enough), then apply the damage spell. Or apply multiple weaknesses if you want (but they need to be separate spells or they won't stack)

Wrong, that's how it works in Oblivion but in Morrowind you can just use a 1 sec weakness in the same spell but the key thing is it needs to be above the dmg effect when making the spell.

Okay, the final boss wasn't as bad as I heard, but I was pretty high level. Neat mod though, I chose to fight whatever the hell he was rather than going for the DUSK style ending where he possesses you but you get all his powers. The loot you get from killing him is awesome though, especially since I wear the Mananaut gear anyway so it's just a straight upgrade for me.
>>733519224
Honestly, I don't have many to recommend. I mainly just play Tamriel Rebuilt, this was a rare quest mod I bothered to add because Beyond the Firmament sounded so good. Fair Magicka Regen and that one Trainwiz made that makes INT scale like fatigue are nice though.

OpenMW works better but does not have access to some script features. TR has spells that are only available in the MWSE version of the game.

Wouldn't mind grabbing an ale with him, ogling at some Dunmer babes, and just shootin the shit with
>>
>>733523005
Whatever you prefer. There are few noticeable differences between them, but basically:
>OpenMW is easier to install if you can't into files and I think it comes with a few small changes to the way the game works for better (and in a few minor cases worse)
>MWSE involves more messing around but allows for easier script extension so a bunch of mods only work with it for now
Some anons like to vastly astroturf one or the other in some bizarre attempt at "discrediting" the one they don't use, so watch out for that.
>>
What's the best questline in Anvil?
>>
>>733522376
They’ll probably delete it in a redo just like they’re deleting the horse quest in Old Ebonheart
>>
>>733523957
What? Why are they deleting that?
>>
>>733517568
I know people shit on the final boss for this mod but I thought it was neat
>He's really dangerous
>I end up using scrolls to fight him which I've been saving all game with no need for, so figured this may as well be it
>In the end I remember this one spell that eats my magicka bar like nothing else that I made early in the game
>It does a fuck ton of shock damage but I found it unfeasible to use due to the cast cost
>Well, it's do or die
>Chug some high level alchemy brewed magicka potions
>Blast the fuck over and over
>His health stops being chipped away by my other stuff and plummets
It was pretty cool. I was using the quest as a send-off for my mage so having a neat game mechanic call-back to my first created spell to win the final battle felt like something an actual story would use.
>>
>>733524054
It’s le not in line with current development standards. They’re going to redo it and move it to Kragenmoor instead when that city comes out in 5 years.

How does Vivec work in-universe? Does everybody live in the canton waistworks like bugs or are the plazas at the top supposed to be more town-like and contain residential buildings? Or maybe everybody lives in the two residential cantons and the others are just for work or something.

I'm thinking of doing the main quest and tribunal (and ending it all with Sotha Sil Expanded). I went through the main quest a year ago but then got distracted exploring Tamriel Rebuilt too. I also installed a horrible mod that made Dagoth Ur sound like an edgelord and filled the final dungeons with retarded instakill traps, which I won't be using this time.

If we ever saw Vivec in its full scale, I'd imagine that you'd likely see many apartments on the exterior, like in the Saint Districts, with a number more in the waistworks (which are likely a lot better looking then their in-game apperance), with the higher classes occupying the upper canton.
Then again, it's quite possible that the population of Vivec is deliberately low for its size, given that it is supposed to be a religious site.
>>
>>733525883
Vivec is much larger than what you see in game. In game you are seeing a scaled down abstraction. Nearly all game cities and towns work like that. It's also one of the reasons open worlds tend to feel so small, because the scale usually used feels too 1:1, so it makes it hard to recognize that it's really not and the what you are seeing of the world is both shrunk and truncated and when you character travels a mile it actually represents a far larger distance.
>>
>>733520649
>And who is the chick?
Maybe Dibella or a priestess of her? They are enemies in Daggerfall.
Sanguine's sphere is more or less a corruption of Dibella's virtues and erotism, so it's probably pretty easy for him to mislead and capture her priests.

I was thinking, are there any other mods from the other TES games that compare in size/content to Tamriel Rebuilt or is it simply the biggest at this point. One that comes to mind is Enderal, a lot of effort put into it, but I wouldn't say it's nearly as massive in scale as TR. In general I'm not as knowledgeable on Skyrim mods.
>>
>>733543653
I think it's kinda lame the city has nothing for you if you're not Hlaalu though. Redoran players will have to wait 5 years to get a similar treatment and Telvanni 10+.

>>
>>733546231
Even without post-Morrowind lore, Tiber Septim himself comes up and tells you pointblank at the end of the game the Empire is about to die. The Hlaalu are about to eat shit regardless when the power structure they pinned themselves to falls apart.
>>
>>733545110
I think they do plan to have it in the game, because they're planning on including the various Eltheric Islands on the map (already did Stirk, Stros and the Chain are coming up after Rihad) and Summerset. To not include Thras at that point would be equivalent to have a filled in map with a blank space in the middle for no reason.
>>
>>733546787
TR Hlaalu's whole thing is that they want to eventually fuck over BOTH the Empire and the other Houses, they're not just Imperial vassals entirely dependent on the Septims

None that I can think of, there's Beyond Skyrim, which hasn't released anything beyond the Bruma area in Cyrodiil. Wymstooth, Falskaar, Lordbound are other new lands to explore but not as massive as TR.
>>
>>733547154
Pretty sure you're missing my point that giving the tribals African-inspired hair for no reason (read: they're not the actual African-inspired people in the first place, you just glued that to them out of the blue) shows someone has a negative bias against those people. If someone slapped that hair on some nomadic Redguards in Hammerfell you can justify it regardless, but if you slap it on the Ayleids who you kinda glued some Mesoamerican bird cult stuff too then suddenly you have to explain yourself. Why would this random Ayleid have hair like an African? Why did you make that association? Is it because she's a tribal? That's racist.
>>733547241
I'm pointing out the issue of slapping a kinky hairstyle on the Wild Elves when they were not a kinky-haired people in the first place, this is basic logic.
>>
>>733547356
>I'm pointing out the issue of slapping a kinky hairstyle on the Wild Elves when they were not a kinky-haired people in the first place
Okay well maybe in TR lore Ayleid elves have kinky hair? If your issue is with the drawing itself why did it only become an issue when I complained about the stupid killmonger hair? Like the other anon said they aren't "tribal" which is a pretty loaded term to use for someone fighting against racism, and even if they were nobody implied it was a negative thing until you opened your mouth.
The only thing I really care about is the killmonger hair because it looks like shit everywhere it appears.
>>
>>733547652
>Okay well maybe in TR lore Ayleid elves have kinky hair?
They don't. You can see that in the other character pictured in that art and in various other bits of concept art they've released for them. This is basically the equivalent of walking into a tribe in the Amazon Jungle and they all look like South American natives except this one girl who is Ashanti.
>Why did it only become an issue when I
It didn't. Don't be so self-absorbed, your post was just a good spot to highlight the issue I had with them inserting that hairstyle because you also complained about it (for different reasons.)

We're talking about one type of elf. If she was intended to be a Left-Handed Elf or whatever then it wouldn't be worthy of complaint. Instead she's the odd Ayleid out.
>Show me where I did
>>733547154
>You're being disingenuous
No, I'm pointing out a probably unconscious bias the artist is expressing. "I need a hairstyle for this tribal person and I don't care if I'm ignoring their cultural or ethnic design. Hmm what's a good hairstyle for this tribal person living in the jungle. Hmm, I know, an African hairstyle!" Like you don't do that unless you have an unconscious bias. Otherwise it's the equivalent of having your white girl living in Medieval France rocking cornrows, just a complete lack of care for the culture, location, and era you're writing about. The fact that the killmonger hair is just objectively ugly on its own simply makes it worse, if they gave her something fancy or creative I could at least ascribe artistic inspiration to it.
>>
>>733548037

If I had to guess (and this is my personal headcanon based on the PTR wiki) the Minotaurs exile from society *might* have been related to some mythopoeic experiments the Marukhati were conducting to gather data for the Middle Dawn. The monkeys wanted to figure out how gods "worked" so they could learn how to break them, and where better to start than a race begat by a demigod? So they start rounding them up and shipping them off for experimentation. They were Alessia's children, yes, but a worthy sacrifice to a noble goal.
Or I could be wrong, idk it's fun to think about

Absolutely nothing like the Dunmer or Altmer, who fucking DESPISE foreigners by default. Pretty much all the protagonist's problems are from wildlife or Khajiit raiders.

The men do because they're meant to be ugly as fuck while the women are meant to be tall and gorgeous. They're R. Crumb if he was a fantasy race.
>>
>>733557607
The original concept for Bosmer in the Redguard-Morrowind era is that Bosmer men look like various ugly humanoid forest creatures (goblins etc.) while their women looked like various pretty humanoid forest creatures. So all Bosmer could possibly have random animal features in line with that theme, including antlers. Of course this didn't really make it into the game beyond Bosmer men being short and ugly and their women being taller and pretty, all the exotic features got removed.

He's one of the only Daedra you can argue is conclusively 100% factually evil. Most of the others can make a case for themselves. Even Dagon himself is just cursed to be like he is. But not Bal, he's in it for the game, the complete despoilment and ruination of all of Mundus. I think the next most evil would be Vaermina, who also likes corrupting and torturing things, purely for its own sake and not to get her rocks off or demonstrate power and mastery (like Bal often does.)

My favorite (non-sermon) book has always been The Hope of the Redoran. Everything aside, it's a cool underdog story of a badass in-game NPC rising to the occasion. But what really elevates it is the mythical set dressing it has, like the mom somehow having it in her to belt out a prophecy as she's dying of child birth and the subsequent dweomer placed upon the baby. It's very reminiscent of the birth of Feanor, where he has such a heavy and fiery passion in him that it exhausts his mother as she's in labor with him and has her wishing for death. Also the allusion to the (later) story of Achilles, with the seemingly-immortal warrior being done in by their one weakness.

They get a bad rap because they're the lorelet race along with Bretons, and practically every single Bosmer in the entire series is a designated comic relief character. It's impossible to take a race of beady-eyed manlets with some of the goofiest voice-acting across all the games seriously.

Enchant a permanent fortify speed for two billion onto a ring or robe or whatever you want.
Fortify speed spell that lasts 30~ seconds
fortify speed potions

you DO have some options, you know.

Me personally?
Enchanted ring with 20~30 pts of jump, and whatever lik 20 pts of speed, probably more, for 10 seconds. Can hop around like a retard. It's faster.

Yeah it was good. The bosses were a little OP, but if you're high level when you get to them you can just chug potions and hit them with your own bullshit right back.

Does that mean the Wabbajack doesn't work in OpenMW either? Not that it's useful, the thing is a meme weapon, but it's funny turning Ordinators into mudcrabs.
>>
It's amazing that Morrowind still doesn't have any sex mods. I guess there is not much you can do with those stiff models.
You'd think MWSE/OpenMW would handle it, given that OpenMW handles shit like dynamic physics.
>>
>>733573519
Why would you want sex mods in Morrowind. The focus is on content, if you want Koikatsu with swords Skyrim is right there.
>>
>>733573409
I'm not entirely sure as I haven't tried it myself, but most likely yes. OpenMW only recently gained scripting capabilities that allow you to add such things, and TR is still waiting for them maybe to add compatibility with MWSE so that they don't have to rewrite the same scripts for different versions.
>>733573519
There are plenty of sex mods, they're all just from the old days before Oblivion because people who do this kind of thing almost always only mod the latest game.
>>
>>733523005
OpenMW has mods that MWSE will naver have and vice versa. Also, OpenMW is way more stable and looks way better, but MWSE has access to more advanced scripting that can introduce new functions.
But y'know, MWSE is still vanilla Morrowind that barely coprehends modern systems.
>>
>>733573570
Because I want to fuck Arvesa properly.

It doesn't have the wabbajack effect, it's just a staff with 9000 enchant value. Arguably more useful.
>>
>>733573648
I'm yet to be convinced OpenMW is more stable, no matter how often anons say it. I'm using MWSE and I think it's crashed maybe twice in a year of playing it?
>>
>>733573815
Easily more useful, but that's not what you want the wabbajack for.
>>
>>733574343
People mainly mean FPS. For me, OpenMW has about 10-15fps more in large cities like Narsis. And I still don't think it's worth it.
>>
>>733574343
Depends on how many mods you I using. I used to run about 700+ mods on my MWSE installation and it could barely comprehend it without crashing.
On the other had, the same 700+ modpack on OpenMW runs like a dream.
>>
>>733574438
Ah, makes sense. I have a decent enough computer and paces like Narsis can dip in the frame rate department at times.

The only downside is NPCs looking bad again, but better bodies/heads clashes something awful with TR. You get characters looking like they're invading from future generation games hanging around in towns next to the standard Morrowind inhabitants.

Those are exotic easterners who are about as close to Reachmen as they are to Bretons. Pic rel is the art for the "mainstream" Bretons who were in Daggerfall and all.

It doesn't make much sense for the cosmopolitan Bretons to universally still be stuck in the surcoat and mail era in a setting where plate already exists i guess (and without a lore justification like the one Bretonnia has)

never said they were, nor did i say that other cultures in tamriel cant have masked helmets. thats obviusly fine, but to rely on masks as a crutch for more creative armor design is a little bit boring, in my opinion. if there is supposed to be any exoticism, it needs to be purposeful and meaningful, like the ordinator mask which is an reverent idolatrous visage of nerevar

I guess the logic behind it is that their Iliac Bay is an advanced almost Renaissance-like setting, with that Knight in particular bearing the symbol of Wayrest, which in PTR is supposed to be one of Tamriel's five only megalopolises. The Redguards (BOTH crowns and forebears), due to their cosmopolitan seagoing nature, canonically have largely abandoned yokudan traditions and instead speak the common tamrielic language, dress in an european-like manner, and their royalty straight up follows the 8 Divines religion. Kinda like TES V Nords except it was established all the way back in Redguard, a game that took place in a Crown city where everybody was dressed like a pirate and the architecture was vaguely middle eastern. The only cities that could look like that would be some really backwater ones all the way to the West whose people are somehow unaffected by the direction Redguard society took immediately after the Ra Gada invasions.

That being said, the PTR people do seem to be taking some inspiration from West African societies like those, just don't expect anything even near the degree in that image.

The 3rd Era is literally defined by the fact the Empire de jure controls the entire continent. And while in PTR lore Hammerfell is supposed to have special priviliges similarly to Morrowind (due to the events of TESA:Redguard), there's nothing to suggest slavery is such a privilege, or that the Redguards ever had slavery to begin with, at least not deeply ingrained slavery of the sort the Dunmer have. Overall, Morrowind is consistently talked about as the only place in the continent where you can still own sapient beings as property.

i dont know how it seems like i am glorifying the slave trade by wanting the aesthetics and culture of a real life culture to influence a fictional culture. i find the Benin Kingdom interesting, which does not mean that I think their culture and history is superior to others. it would be like if i said that you glorify slavery by enjoying the telvanni or something. are you one of those that think you need to agree with a character in order for you to like how they are written?

>Which pocket guide said Orcs were little more than beasts who did not even have a spoken language
Literally none. Even the first Pocket Guide in all its propagandistic nature that adopts an anti-Orc stance, still describes the Orcs as rational beings capable of building a city, having complex geopolitical goals and strategies, and petitioning the Empire for recognition, which it even states they did have under the Remans. And the PGE3 is a whole different beast from Redguard's PGE1, being a much more honest rundown on what's happening on each province rather than a wartime propaganda piece.

You should really stick to your beloved Skyrim Civil War threads if they still make them, you're just not cut for any other TES lore.

This army was determined to take control of the Bjoulsae River and force the kingdom of Wayrest to pay Orsinium regularly for its use.
>Orsinium briefly became an Imperial territory under the Akaviri Potentate, though this ended with the death of Savirien-Chorak in CE431 [sic]. The Khajiit also worship the Daedra, and unlike the Dunmer, they don't even draw any distinction between them and the Aedra

And you have to keep in mind, Tamriel didn't always look the way it does in the 3rd era. The Empire was once ruled by a theocracy that virulently hated the Altmer pantheon and the Nords are likewise not big fans of elves. That, alongside the Reachmen's tribal nature does set them apart from their neighbors.

The Dres still recognize the Tribunal in spite of their old-style ancestor and daedra worship. House Telvanni on the other hand is explicitly described as blasphemous & heretical and constantly defying the Temple. Everyone worships the Daedra in some form. Even the Empire has its Acceptable Blasphemies. The Nords included, where some Daedra are among their Testing Gods who are appeased rather than praised (still a form of worship.) I wasn't really implying Daedra worship is a unique Dunmer thing, but that the rejection of the Aedra is. The sole Aedra that the Dunmer praise and respect (though they don't actively worship him) is Lorkhan, with the Altmer hostility towards him being considered one of their sins by the Dunmer.
>The Reachmen's tribal nature
I did call them feral Bretons. The point I was making is just that Reachman/Breton is more of a cultural divide than a racial one. So if they Ostern are just 'civilized Reachmen' then that makes them just Bretons.
