>>733616402>hes clearly differentAlt tells us that Artifact-Johnny is a fragmented version of the Real-Johnny, which is why his memories are all messed up. He's had 50 years to spin in his own conscious soup and as a result he's deified aspects of his story and entirely forgotten others. It's actually a great unreliable narrator convention, as we're seeing exactly what Johnny believes himself to be at his deepest inner self. It's like how when you replay at argument you had with your girlfriend you're the one who is rational and calm and considered, when in reality you were also probably being a dick and not listening.

>>733619782>he thinks he's some Cain like being who has no statsdude can be blown up, he's not that big of a deal, especially tabletop version
>>733618665Anime was badly researched. Reflex enhancing ware does just that. Enhance your reaction times. On tabletop it means people who have it will win initiative and get to act multiple times. You are still bound by your physical limitations like movement speed and the like. To overcome those you would need more ware. Also its a common option, anyone that plans to fight typically gets it, they wanted david to be special so only he and smasher had it. But if youre accurate to the setting those bikers would have had it too, and so would the maelstrom guy. Maybe they would have a lower tier of it, but they would still have it too. Also on top of that there's two types. One that you activate - what david has, which needs conscious effort to activate. And one that's permanently activated as soon as you wake up from the table. The one that stays on forever is like that justice league/cyborg 009 episode where the flash/009 get stuck in super speed. Thats why its so costly to your humanity. But if you really want to be the best, then you dont want to be in a situation where youre taken by surprise and *then* need to turn it on.This is why top level street samurai are so disconnected from humanity. You borg up and it makes you better but always being better, hearing further, seeing more, being faster but forced to move at the same pace as normals. It takes a toll. Sure you can watch youtube shorts at 16x speed while your team is negotiating with the client. But every single 'normal' activity fucks you up because its beneath you. Shit like waiting for the car to get to the blacksite would feel like an eternity. Sitting down to eat while your unagmented family shovels down one spoonful after the other in ultra slow motion? After a while it will grate at you.Cyber psychosis isnt just multiple robot parts glued to you = you go crazy somehow. Its all the stresses of superhumanity wearing down on your sanity until you just snap.
>>733620013>anon we are talking about Tokyo, not LAYeah but I'm not making that up, there have been multiple insane plans to just fill in Tokyo Bay and leave only canals for shipping and passenger terminals, for the same reasons as that retarded pyramid plan. (They've also actually been doing it since the 1800s, burning garbage to ash and then using it to fill in the bay to make more land)
>>733620254but it wouldn't be a wastelandanyway Tokyo is a bit overused at the moment, probably some Hong Kong stuff (like that other anon said) would be more fitting... even without the Kowloon block it's very high density... and also a real location so no more headaches when it comes to "what are people doing there?!"Sleeping Dogs presented the excellent possibilities of the city, even though it wasn't sci-fi or cyberponkbtw two of the three major Blade Runner financiers were also from Hong Kong (Sir Run Run Shaw, & Tandem Productions)

>>733621246i wasn't specifically talking about david, it's just the fact that most "groups" are fairly balanced when it comes to the tabletopessentially, the entire team can magdump Adam and it just works, you don't even need to be his level, you just need mid-tier gear to get past the armor rating or whatever and that's not mentioning the special stuff that each class can doi find the unfortunate problem is that these "cyberpunk" games are typically too quick, like people die fucking instantly if you play the rules properly, to the point of whoever gets the drop on the other is the victor 99% of the timeso having fixers, netrunners, and other classes are what really fucks him up, like batman preparation, most people who are doing crazy enough shit to attract smasher typically have the means to deal with him or other heavily armored platforms
Why do you people want to go to another city so badly? I wish they even abandoned the Chicago idea and fleshed out Night City more instead. So much work has been already put into it and many players won't even see half of it. Entire areas designed where's there is nothing for the player to do because of cut content. The city just need to be touched up and the development time saved can be used for example for actually making it an RPG this time or having dynamic city systems that actually work etc.
>>733620171>and so would the maelstrom guy.He absolutely didWhen David tries to uppercut him, he activates his and nearly hits David with the hammer, giving him a real split second scare
>>733622837He also does that thing where he snaps his head fast enough to look at David like Superman spotting The Flash
Panam's dialogue made me cringe so hard. who wrote their romance, it fucking sucks
>>733622837who goes around writing BROKEN and NO FUTURE on absolutely everything in night city?
>>733584597The one where I refunded this dogshit game and got the refund with no questions asked even though it was over 2 hours.
>>733620061>he thinks he's some Cain like being who has no statsNot what I'm saying. I know he has stats - point is he would absolutely wipe most if not all mid-range crews, which is exactly his threat level in 2020.I can't speak to 2077 cause we only have the anime and the game to go off of. Smasher is dangerous, but he's not at the level of the 12 for example, any one of which would flatline him.
>>733621985I would prefer it because it would give them a skeleton (both W3 & CP2077 are fictional...)Moving to a new city, especially a mammoth of the pinball industry --where Polish people for whatever reason flocked-- like Chicago would give them the resources and perspective to return to Night City after that and "flesh it out.">Entire areas designed where's there is nothing for the player to do because of cut content. The area should have been the content. It never had the pull, for me, to explore; and I am not alone, that's why even you are complaining. When I looked up interesting quests I should do, the road there felt like a chore. And this was the only open world game I finished in which I ever felt like this.
>>733621985>The city just need to be touched up and the development time saved can be used for example for actually making it an RPG this time or having dynamic city systems that actually work etc.100% the shift to UE5 is also a dick-kick. NC was beautifully (if flawed in places) realized in REDEngine. For the sequel all they needed was to put another 2-3 years into making it this absolutely gorgeously living city chock full of secrets and hideaways and stories. One of the whole reasons you do a sequel is to re-use assets to save on development costs which can be re-allocated to other or new features.
>>733599270
>>733625278why are they moving to UE? the engine in cp2077 seemed to have a lot of life in itit makes me anxious to think if they'll have difficulty achieving their trademark weather (the only realistic weather I've seen in any computer game were in their two games) in UE5
>>733621540Yeah, but outside of David and Lucy none of them had anything to deal with him or coordinate against him It also wasnt just Adam but Arasaka squads too (this was a direct Saka contract for him so he would get backup and runners to support him)Maxtac was regrouping and not far offThey werent prepared at all to deal with Smasher eitherThey were unprepared, outleveled and outnumbered
>>733620171Isnt David's Sandevistan a advanced Militech prototype and thats why hes much faster than most people alongside him being able to spam it nonstop?Im pretty sure thats why Saka wanted him in the first place to run tests on stolen Militech wareSmasher just happens to also have top shelf Sandy ware but like he said its not that big a deal everyone has it and David is delusional to think himself special just because hes got a extra beefy one
>>733623309Lots of people.
>>733626029Arasaka wanted him because he was just some random kid with no chrome and he had it and installed in a back alley and used it without exploding his brain. He was indeed built different
>>733626029>Isnt David's Sandevistan a advanced Militech prototype and thats why hes much faster than most people alongside him being able to spam it nonstop? How does the sandevistan make him faster? I can understand it allowing him to see time far slower than most sandevistans, but it’s not modifying your body
>>733594259Based, same.
>>733589646>dragk
>>733625546>why are they moving to UE?Investor demands. The whole kerfuffle surrounding CP2077 release was essentially blamed on the engine itself (scapegoated). This allowed the developer to shift blame off themselves whilst also presenting a solution. Same reason Witcher 4 will be in UE5.>"So you see, board of investors. RedEngine simply wasnt up to the task. However, Unreal 5 is more than suited for future development, and comes with a wealth of documentation. Not to mention we can outsource a lot of busywork to India for only $2 an hour.">Investors all nod approvingly at the mention of indian labour.
>>733584597that one
>>733626216>How does the sandevistan make him faster?Increased reaction time. He can react faster. However, it's an incredible strain on his muscles and skeleton and tendons etc. You could chrome up and reinforce a lot of that to make the strain more bearable (which he does), but it still takes its toll on your nervous system.
>>733626183Yeah, but not special enough to completely borg whitin a year without losing his shitNot to mention without the Grav Gun Exoskeleton he really didnt have much to write home about that the top tier crews couldnt trivializeHe was indeed special, but that isnt enough to make it
>>733618380Phone, wallet, ID, cards, etc. Lots of wireless shit required for convenience purposes. I also think if law enforcement spotted you sporting a bunch of wireless chrome, you would immediately be detained

>>733584597Best ending was V going to invade the Crystal Palace because fuck you, we're going full Neuromancer now.
>>733627937Those things arent part of your body. A hacker pwning your gadgets are way better than say, your cybereyes or your cyberarms. And before we go any further. Only an idiot would run their smartlink gun on wireless. A cable is cheap and ubiqutous, theres no shortage of ports in your body to connect to it if the handle itself doesnt already form a direct connection.>but the police!!!Youre already a criminal walking around with milspec gear. If you catch their eye - you shouldnt, you should dress to blend in or not be seen at all from inside a tinted vehicle - then there would be a million other things to worry about. At that point you either talk your way out, shoot your way out, or realistically, buy your way out.If you're corporate military the police wont be able to do shit to hassle you because youre working for a higher power.
>>733626029Thats just bad anime writing. The guys who wrote the story didnt know any better and wanted an enjoyable show for the audience which it accomplices. They should have spent a few minutes showing David's level of fitness, instead they do the opposite by showing him gas out while he's running with Lucy. If you think about it, all he can do with the sandevistan is perceive time differently. His ability to drive, pickpocket and keep himself from being pick pocketed kind of makes sense. But running from one side of a train to the other to catch a chip in midair would leave him just as exhausted as running in real time.Again, its forgivable given the subject.
>>733629320I go with Corpo V because my autistic ass likes to 100% all quests and there's one tinyass side quest in PL locked behind being corpo.
>>733630598which quest?I've played corpo before but don't remember any PL specific quests
>>733611865he could have been just a chatbot all along
>>733584738if there was a good ending, why would you pick a bad onebesides on accident
Am I the only one who has a fetish for fucking a heavily pregnant woman, and when she cums, her waters break, and she goes into labour, so you need to take her to the hospital to give birth?
>>733618560really, people act as if its the end for v when just a couple months in the gym and v is in shape v was at the start of the game
>>733618560That ending especially made no sense for a Corpo V who started out with a cushy office job and was forced to become a 'runner to survive. Going back to a cushy office job should be a reward, not a punishment for them.
>>733631298Corpo of the Month if you spare the Netwatch guy during the Voodoo Boys gig. Calling it a quest is way too generous since it's literally just go loot the guy's stash, but it would bother me to not have it done.
>>733619561yeah it's a great handwave for poor inconsistent writing
>>733634680>yeah it's a great handwave for poor inconsistent writingAre you serious? Do you really not understand what I wrote? >>733618665You know how flies can flap their wings thousands of times a minute but to our human senses, our perception we just see it as some buzz. It's kinda like that, speeds up all his reaction and responses beyond human cognitive perception. It doesn't slow down time or speed up time it simply makes his reaction times faster than a normal human can perceive.
>>733588483Neurons aren't something we grow back and, theoretically, if we could they're not the same neuron because we don't have a concrete idea of how to restore memory, only mitigate brain damage.Even with the advances in Cyberpunk what was done to /v/ was a form of brain cancer that rewrites the files in his head. Nobody knows how to reverse that because it's not like the tech is well-shared by Arasaka.

Meanwhile they endlessly complain about government and corporate powers while both refusing to wear or use anything that doesn't have a giant corporate brand on it and believing democracy is somehow real. Just really take in the world around you and the behavior of the people in it the next time you go outside, you are already living in a dying cyberpunk-esque civilization where the president is shilling crypto and the government is nothing more than arena for corporate power struggles. This applies to everyone. Lefty troons will complain about muh corporate power while defending any company that puts up a pride flag, and are active proponents of the pharmalogical cash cow that is "transgenderism". While rightoids will act as if capitalism still is or even ever was real, and that we are still citizens of some country with rights rather than the unmoored inhabitants of some special economic zone where the dollar and what it can buy is God for 95% of the population.
