The only time costumes look high budget and real, is when they're completely redesigned from the source material. There are plenty of cosplayers who make this look good. The fabric always look like some mom and pop store costume for halloween.

If you're a cosplayer, you can stuff a lot of extra parts and details on it since you aren't going anywhere.But for a movie, you need to so some basic acrobatics you can't go all out unless you constantly want stuff to break.Also I'm hungry if you're asking why.
