From the little gacha machine in the lobby, through spawnable items and selectable avatars, to the entire bullshit little game story of "pls finish our game", everything points at multiplayer focus. Every game mechanic, every underlying piece of logic, it's all built for MP gameplay. All they had to do was to ship multiplayer as part of the game on release, then they fucked it up, then no one understood the point of the game.
