They are as good as remasters can be.

The first game is easily the best one. The atmosphere, light metroidvana elements and bosses just make it fundamentally a better “game” than 2 and defiance feels like a bad DMC clone.

The first Soul Reaver is basically gothic Ocarina of Time like how Blood Omen was gothic A Link to the Past. Soul Reaver 2 is way more linear with no side content but a way bigger and better emphasis on the story.
